Very much missed

Allie left us today to join her beautiful angel daughter, Sweet Pea. The two girls slept side by side most nights for years and Allie felt the loss of her little girl 10 weeks ago.

In 2013 we lost our Pirate to heart disease and not long after we were gifted our boy Albert. We struggled with the idea of welcoming and loving another cat and a week before Albert was due to join our family we were asked if we’d also take his mum. We immediately said yes to taking Allie and suddenly we had a new family dynamic with two kitties and not just one, and a very special bonded mum and son. Sweet Pea was reunited with her mum and brother 15 months later and they instantly welcomed and remembered her. Sweet Pea had so many quirks, she was anything but a normal cat and Albert and Allie thrived on Sweet Pea’s energy.

Despite being twice the age of her kiddies Allie outplayed them every day until early in May this year when her cancer returned. It wasn’t unusual to hear Allie running around downstairs in the middle of the night kicking her crinkle balls or scooting across the floor on a laptop case we referred to as her skateboard. Allie liked to sit back and watch what Albert and Sweet Pea were doing and whenever they found a new place to hide or sleep sure enough days later Allie would claim the new place to sleep as her own.

Allie was a proud girl always strutting around with confidence and her kids knew that their mummy was the boss. We are heartbroken for Albert who has not only lost his sister in recent weeks but now his mum who he was so bonded to. Allie was the heart of our family and we can say with certainty that she has lived her last 8 years to the fullest and loved every second of life until recently.

She has been an incredibly strong and brave girl.

It has been a long 2 years since you lost your battle with Cancer.

You are dearly missed, and will never be forgotten.

May you catch all the bugs and lizards that come your way in heaven.

No amount of time will make things better, you are in our thoughts always.

No more reaching for heaven little angel.

You have your wings, fly high.

Allie, Albert, Mumma & Dadda will miss you so much.

Happy 1st Birthday to two beautiful girls, Charlotte and Beatrice. Since joining our family at 10 weeks of age to now they have bonded with Albert and become great friends, and given him back some spark. Albert misses his old life with his mum and sister but we are happy for him that he's no longer lonely and the girls have even taught him some new naughty tricks.
