Fostering might seem scary and like a big commitment but we promise you it's really quite simple (most of the time). It's as easy as just loving on a dog and helping it transition between homes, plus trips to the vet. Don't know that you can help with vet transport? We've got volunteers to help and vets in all areas!

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN FOSTERING?
First and foremost, a lot of love!
A good foster family has the willingness, patience, and time to care for a confused rescue who needs love and has no idea why life has become so disrupted. They also help assess medical needs and sometimes transport rescues to needed veterinary appointments.

Foster families are responsible for providing food and water, a safe clean and warm home, and the unconditional love and attention a rescue needs during a stressful transition. While a pug is in foster care, the foster family helps to build up sagging self confidence, reinforce basic obedience commands and modify or reinforce good behavior as needed (including housetraining).

Foster families help to evaluate the rescues personality and temperament, important information needed in order to find the best possible forever home for him or her. Fosters also help get pictures and write bios to share as well. A foster family’s impact is vital in preparing the rescue for a smooth transition to his new adoptive home as well as helping find one.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR MY FOSTER'S VET CARE?
Oh my gosh, no! The rescue provides (pays) for all veterinary care for every foster pup! Need supplies to house a foster? We've got those too!

WORRIED YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO SEND YOUR FOSTER TO ANOTHER HOME FOR ADOPTION? Don't worry.
Be forewarned, foster dogs often find a special place in the heart of their foster families. In fact we lose many good foster homes when they decide to adopt their foster and become their forever home. That’s ok with us, we love a happily ever after curly tail ending!

Please consider taking home a rescue dog. As we all know the rescues and shelters had a rough time before COVID but now they are seeing numbers like never before. An incredible amount of people decided to get pets and/or breed during quarantine. Unfortunately many of those people left them with shelters or homeless when they went back to work or realized they actually need attention. We have decided to not breed for any new pups until at the very least we see a change in the amount of dogs that already need homes. I may share mostly pug rescues needing homes here but there are so many wonderful rescues and shelters that would love to hear from you.💙

We know adopting two pugs at once is not for everyone, but we were surprised we didn't hear from one person about these two cuties...because, well...they are PERFECT!
Larry and Curly are 8 yr old brothers that really love each other. They are perfectly mannered, calm and most of all VERY loving to each other and their person!

They are potty trained and healthy...what could be better! Even though two may be too much for you, can you share with your network and help us find these boys a home!

Meet JC, This poor 4 month old puppy was surrendered to Church Of Pug due to injury after a fall and the fact that his family felt they did not have the time or financial ability to care for him any longer. JC has a badly shattered elbow that will require Emergency surgery tomorrow to put in an implant in order to save his limb. He is currently being hospitalized at OSU and scheduled for surgery first thing in the morning. Any donations towards his care are greatly appreciated. We have an estimate of approximately $7500 for his surgery and they require a deposit of $3500 to proceed in the morning.
As you know we’ve been hit really hard with emergencies this last week and have two other dog’s ( Max has a screw that came out from his surgery that has to be addressed and Churro will require surgery immediately as well)  scheduled to be seen by the orthopedic doctors needing surgery on Monday next week as well and are extremely low on funds at the moment.
