A few “family” brags: our friends over at Keowee collies won a specialty major with their beautiful boy Reid, Major pointed Keowee’s What Dreams Are Made Of! Reid is a son of beautiful Bonnie (also owned by the ladies at Keowee collies). Bonnie is our Pumpkin Cake’s sister, a Bryce x Dixie daughter. Reid was bred by Keowee collies, congratulations ladies!
Second, sweet Cassie, near champion New River’s Skara Brae Wild Mountain Thyme, picked up a couple of new scent work titles over the weekend! Smart and beautiful girl. Cassie is from our Milo x Tui litter from 2023. This young girl also just needs a couple of single points to finish her AKC championship. Congratulations to her owner Heidi!
Lastly, our new puppy boy, Teddy, “New River’s Aryggeth Let Freedom Ring”, went to his first collie puppy match and placed 3rd in a beautiful, large class of 2-4 month puppy boys. We are extremely excited about his boy’s future and are grateful to the ladies at Aryggeth collies for allowing him to come live here with our pack. 💖

It has been an exciting week for us here at New River Collies! The Ginny x Hudson babies turned 1 week old. They are both fat and healthy, close to 2 lbs, and both are beautiful. Also, it has been 10 years since we have introduced a new male to our program. We are pleased to introduce Teddy! Teddy (registered name to be determined) was bred by Aryggeth collies and has every single quality we were looking to incorporate into our program. He is beautiful and smart and healthy with a pedigree full of dogs we admire. We are very excited to get this beautiful young boy in the show ring this fall!

We are anxiously awaiting our Hudson x Ginny litter due in a little over a week! Both parents are health tested AkC champions. Sadly I believe Tui resorbed her litter so only one litter this summer.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads out there, both the 2-legged and 4-legged kind! Here is our dad dog here, Milo, GCh Afterhours Lilly’s October Sky. He is now almost 10 years old!

Very exciting times for these three littermates as they hopefully continue making their mark in the collie world through their offspring! GChB Super Steve, CCA Smooth WD/BOW 2022 already has 4 major pointed daughters in his first two litters, and he currently has two very promising young litters on the ground at Gateside Collies! Steve is owned and loved by La-De-Da Collies. Next is near Ch Skye, who is in whelp to the fabulous Baker, Ch Overland Playmaker, CCA rough WD 2019, and we cannot wait to see what those two produce together for Skye’s owner at Connelly Skye Collies! Third is our very own Group placing Ch Ginny, who is currently in whelp to the beautiful Hudson, Ch Headline’s Drama’s Boy at Blue Haven. Hudson is a son of the incredible Stella, multiple CCA BOV and CCA BOB GChG Headline’s Flair For the Dramatic. We have admired Stella for a long time and have been waiting for the opportunity to breed to a son of hers, and that time has finally arrived!
All three of these beautiful collies are littermates from our Rufio x Reese litter (Ch Aryggeth’s Straight on Til Morning x Ch New River’s Hot Pursuit). Steve and Skye are also both heavily titled in performance venues.

Big congratulations to Jinx “New River Skylarkin’ at V***n Hill” and her sweet owner Michele on going Best in Match at the Collie Club of Maryland AKC sanctioned match yesterday! Jinx is from our Milo x Tui litter and is just starting to get her feet wet in AkC conformation.

Unfortunately it is looking like neither of our summer litters we had planned will come to fruition. My Ginny's tri-color sister Skye, is due in June with babies at Connelly collies by the fabulous Ch. Overland Playmaker, if interested please check out their FB page! They will be all roughs, sables and tri's. She is located in Ohio.

Skye’s five beautiful femalepuppies arrived June 24 - 4 sable and 1 tricolor… just like mom and dad (CH Overland Playmaker). Both parents have been fully tested according to breed recommendations, are healthy, active, loving and conform to the breed standard. This breeding was carefully planned to provide healthy pets capable of showing, sporting, herding and being loving companions. Feel free complete a Google interest form to start the conversation.
