It’s generally advised not to cut a puppy's hair until they are around 8 months old for several reasons:

Coat Development: Puppies go through a significant coat change as they mature. Cutting their hair too early can interfere with the natural growth and development of their adult coat. For certain breeds, especially those with double coats or specific textures, early grooming can lead to uneven growth.

Skin Sensitivity: Puppies’ skin is sensitive, and cutting their hair too early can lead to irritation or injury. Their skin needs time to adapt to grooming tools and techniques.

Temperament and Training: Early grooming experiences can shape a puppy's attitude toward grooming for life. If a puppy is groomed too soon or inappropriately, it might develop a fear or aversion to grooming, making future grooming sessions difficult.

Health Considerations: Puppies need to maintain their natural insulation and protection from the elements. Their fur helps regulate body temperature and protects them from environmental factors.

Identification of Health Issues: A puppy's coat can be an indicator of health. Regular grooming allows owners to check for skin conditions, parasites, or other health issues that might not be as easily seen if the coat is cut too short.

If grooming is necessary for hygiene or comfort, it's best to consult with a professional groomer or veterinarian to determine the best approach for your puppy's specific breed and needs.

Walking in the heat..... How hot is too hot. Well if you ask me anything over 28 degrees celcius is too hot for pets to walk. Now I can only talk based on my experience with dealing with oodles and being an owner of two but my guys will not go for a walk if more than 28. Number one their paws will burn on the ground and number 2 they do get heat stroke and overheat. If I have to take them out I make sure there are shady areas, water and cooling mats available
EEarly in the morning is best during summer because the ground had to cool down for their paws. Late at night OK as long as you have tested the heat ground.

Another "ethical" breeder story....... Please people understand what you buy is not always what you think. Ethical breeders will provide health history, viwe of the breeding parents, their papers and offer returns if the pup is not as promised. If you had seen this stud, in his condition, I guarantee you, you would not want to buy one of his pups. If the public becomes more well informed, these breeders will have no other option other than doing the right thing.

Home, away from home

Dingo’s Den was founded in November 2015, as a dog boarding service. We believe in loving what you do, and the people you do it with, or dogs, in our case. Every dog deserves a happy and safe life and every dog parent needs to be able to go to work, or on holidays and know their baby will be well cared for while boarding, in day care or, at our styling and beauty salon. We are committed to make your pooch, comfortable, beautiful, happy and give you the peace of mind you need through sharing and communicating their tactics on a regular basis.

We are 100% positive the world would be better if everyone could love unconditional, and live with gratitude every day, just like a dog does. Dogs are here, not to learn, but to teach us.

Dingo’s Den is not a boarding Kennel, it is a Home Away from Home. Our guests are spoilt pooches living the high life and the life every dog should have. We are committed to providing the same love, attention and freedom they get home and bring out their best selves. We encourage friendships to blossom through training, playing calmly, pampering, networking and socialising for both pets and pawrents.

Our own pooches Dingo and Wookie, take their jobs very serious. Dingo is a rescue and Wookie has been rehomed with us. Dingo is the captain of the pack and all guests, no matter how big or small, respect him. Wookie is a bundle of joy and is our entertainer. She makes sure all guests get to play and eat as little treats as possible (she loves food), to maintain their waste line.
