Happy Birthday Freddie 💫✨

77 years ago, a Star was born.

Farrokh Bulsara Born September 5, 1946 on the East African island of Zanzibar at the government hospital and on the Parsi New Years Day. He was a very healthy baby, weighting almost 7 pounds. "He was named Farrokh, which means 'Fortunate and Happy' in Persian and it was a fashionable name at the time," his mother Jer said. He seemed to be destined to be in the public eye practically from birth, after his baby picture won the 'Baby of The Year' contest in March 3, 1947, in Zanzibar, Freddie's hometown. Stealing the show couldn’t start early enough!

This picture was the very first photo taken of Baby Farrokh, at the local Capital Art Studio, where it is still displayed with a couple of more shots, for the people to see. The current owners' father photographed Farrokh just as he documented the rest of the island's Parsi community, a then fair larger group. It shows him as a triumphant, smiling five month old and his mother, Jer Bulsara, gave the original print away to raise money for charity, she said: "Freddie has done more for the world in his short life than many people could do in 100 years".

According to Pliny the Elder, Zarathustra “laughed on the very day of his birth and so did Freddie! He was still laughing when the picture was taken.”

Perhaps this beautiful winning baby picture counts as Freddie Mercury’s first public performance.

Legend 💛🌟

He said, 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐧‘𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝. That’s exactly what he became. 👑

Freddie, You Are Loved and Remembered Every Single Day. Legends Never Die !!

Seriously?

Remember, you are NOT a bad person for having a meltdown. They help sensory and emotional overload, release pressure, and assist in restarting our system. Don’t think of them as a bad thing but as a necessary, helpful function.

For anyone witnessing a meltdown, remember, while you see what may appear as “manipulative” behavior or a “tantrum” to get what we want, the reality of the situation is that we’re trying to avoid something to alleviate anxiety or address a painful sensory issue.

I know that it can be difficult, but the best thing that you can do in this situation is to try and stay calm. Meltdowns usually have an escalation, so keeping yourself calm so that you don’t add to that escalation is essential.

If you have a neurodivergent person in your life, then you’re well aware that meltdowns are going to happen. Realizing the reasons behind them instead of assigning a manipulative intent and having a strategy that works for everyone is one of the best ways you can help.

Image ID: Ways to support someone during a meltdown. 1)Be quiet. Let your presence be known but don’t impose that presence through minimizing or trying to calm us. 2)Let it happen. It does little good to try to stop it because it’s involuntary and not in our control. 3)Give us space. Physical reassurance, like hugs or touching, can be disturbing when our sensory system is overloaded.4)No judgment. Remember, reactions that you may not understand are helpful to us. They regulate and restore our sensory system.
