ABA anniversary post 🥳💖😻🥳TWELVE years ago today, I decided to set up a group to encourage and facilitate the adoption of stray and abandoned Egyptian cats and dogs, connecting rescued animals in Egypt to adopters abroad. I named my group Anubis Bastet Adoptions after the Ancient Egyptian cat goddess and jackal god. I had absolutely no idea how immediately successful it would be - it was quite a shock! I was heartened, as well as overwhelmed, by the interest in helping these poor downtrodden animals. It really took off! Now, over 1,000 adoptions later, what better way to celebrate than SEVEN more! These 7 cats flew to the UK two days ago and have been staying with me in Surrey. It's been lovely getting to know them over the last few days. Many of these beauties had been living in rescue-shelters for years, receiving little to no interest. When I first met them, they were so loving and desperate for attention. They will make such perfect pet cats, finally getting the individual attention they crave. Today and tomorrow, they will be going to their new homes 🏡 Time to celebrate with some before and after photos! 📸 Thanks to all ABA fans and followers for all your wonderful support over the last 12 years for these very special animals. A special thanks to Alexandria Cat Rescue Centre who rescued and looked after these cats in Egypt and who I often work with closely to bring kitties to the UK 😻 Love Emily 🥰
