Our Boxer Story
My husband has had boxers since he was a toddler. Until we met I'd never owned a boxer but I'd always liked them at work due to their sweet personalities. When we started dating he had Duke & an amazing little female named Shasta. Shasta quickly stole my heart but Duke was a royal pain! We lost Shasta way too young due to a sudden illness & Duke seemed to grow up overnight. He was the most devoted & loyal companion to our children through their early years before we lost him in the spring of 2013 at over 13 years old. After living with Duke for 10 years it's doubtful that I'll ever be without a boxer again. These dogs are the most loyal, loving, & sweet dogs I've ever been around. They can also be fiercely protective if needed and as a mother I appreciate that more than anything. Boxers don't handle Oklahoma weather well as outdoor dogs - it gets way too hot in the summer & way too cold in the winter. Our dogs have their own room in our house that we built in the spring of 2013. They have heat and air year round & doggie doors allowing them access to the yard & their room as they please. When we are indoors the dogs spend a lot of time in the house with us. They are family pets & well adjusted farm dogs - often interacting with the cattle, horses, & goats. Puppies are also doggie door trained very early on - as soon as they can follow momma in & out the indoor messes stop and babies go outside to potty like the big dogs. This makes house training a breeze! Our pups all have their tails docked & dewclaws removed shortly after birth & at 6 weeks they receive a full physical examination by our veterinarian. They'll be vaccinated, wormed, & checked for all intestinal parasites. We also microchip every puppy. We've been very selective with the dogs we've added to our family, choosing them for temperament, health, & a very specific look that we like. We do not like crazy hyper boxers, they are active dogs but should also be intelligent & teachable. We will not breed a dog that is overly hyper or hard to train. We prefer to produce sound minded, smart puppies that will be wonderful additions to your family. We have not done genetic testing on all of our adult dogs yet but they have been thoroughly examined by our veterinarians multiple times & we do not anticipate issues with puppies. If one of our breeding dogs were to produce puppies with health problems they would be immediateily spayed or neutered & removed from our breeding program. Producing healthy puppies is of upmost importance to us & we will not mess around with health problems. We are committed to our puppies for life & are ALWAYS willing to take one of our babies back at any time & for any reason.
