Olivia is finally up on our Petfinder page. Click the link at the end of the post to read her story. Olivia is a hard story for me as she actually belonged to my step-daughter who passed away suddenly and very young. I am trying to find her a home. I know, I’m a rescue why don’t I take her? That is exactly what we tell people when they come to us with the same circumstances. Trust me I would but the number that I currently have would cause an issue. Where I live is an issue.. The fact that I have 3 end of life rescues just waiting their time mixed with a cattle dog would be a big issue.
So I’m posting, texting,calling, searching and hoping for an answer. We have been looking for 2 months and now suddenly there are just 8 days before we turn the keys over to the landlord.
This is really a nightmare. Most recently we let our hearts open up and have taken in several dogs which has our kennel maxed out. So now we can’t even help our own selves. What’s the saying no good deed goes undone?

So we sent our little Squatty to summer camp. The kennel doesn’t work for him. It creates anxiety and barking and useless energy that has no where to go. So we broke the piggy bank and we scrapped enough to pay for a short summer camp stint. Squatty is lovin’ n learning’ it!
He’s getting exercise, socialization, obedience and exposure. No more pent up worries! Please follow Squatty at camp because when it’s time to come home we don’t want that home to be the kennel we want it to be you !

Lay in a puddle, run through the sprinkler, stay inside with the fan blowing on you.
Randall still needs a home! He is now 6to7 months old. Knows or is learning some commands, sit stay, down,fetch, heel, go to bed, nap time, come etc… he is crate trained and doing well on leash and in the car.
Has always been pretty calm and laid back for a puppy.
He gets along with dogs big and small, does ok with some cats (depends on their attitude)

Deputy is going to put on his badge and start looking for some bandits to adopt him. He is tired of waiting in a kennel for his hold-up gang. Tonight he’s holding me a paw-point to get his profile on Petfinder so more people will know about him.
Cattle dog lovers!!!! We are still looking for a home, a foster, a herding dog training program, a solution for Oliva. It’s been two months since her owner passed away and it’s time to move out of the house. Olivia and 2 other dogs have no where to go. The cats have been placed with relatives but no one in the family is suited for the dogs due to cramped living and smaller dogs in the household. Although all 3 dogs are sweet they have not been thoroughly socialized with other animals. Olivia actually is but she has a strong herding instinct that doesn’t make her suitable around small dogs.
Olivia would be perfect for a single gal ( or guy) that wants a by-your-side companion, a running buddy or just loyal friend that only gives a open ear. She can be all of those things ! She is 4/5 years old, house trained and has been raised with a child in the household. Please share our post, tell a friend, give us a lead …. Time is running out

There are some people in our world that just sprinkle that bit of extra into the atmosphere!!! This week dropped off 120lbs of dog food to our Rags store. She put on her work clothes and collected dog food for Halt and cat food for chance rescue making for many happy mouths. All the dogs at Halt Rescue and may I say especially IRIS say thank you Marty!!!

The kitty life.
We currently have at least 3 kitties we are feeding in colonies which we are concerned about finding homes for each. This darling, young calico was an apartment left behind. She is friendly and since I came upon her has had 3 litters in the crawl space of a dilapidated house. I’m not sure where all the kittens have gone or how many were per litter. She kept that private. I do know she is up to get pregnant again very soon. Is there someone willing to foster so we can get her fixed and back up to having meat on her bones ,looking good and finding her a home. She greets me everyday !
Foster does not mean you have to keep for ever just until they find their forever home. Please comment your help !

Well this is almost the perfect happy tail♥️SuperBowl Sunday 2023 Aunt Bea and her few day old puppies were rescued from a sewer drain. All her puppies are in homes 🐾🐾🐾Aunt Bea was scouted and entered Training Without Conflict as a program dog. The program lasted 6 months and this month Aunt Bea graduated. She graduated and she also became a well trained,confident companion dog. She was such a shell of a dog when we got her from existing on her own in survival mode. We are so grateful that she was chosen and given the opportunity by who was enrolled in the training program and in need of a trainee dog. You can see in the picture the well rounded dog Aunt Bea has become. There is just one piece of the picture missing. A home! Aunt Bea needs an adoption and a family of her own. Deputy …… the amazing story of a neglected dog, saved by Kern County Animal Services, now in rescue and still looking for a home! Deputy is most likely Hound/DobieX Just my guess. He has a lot of hound characteristics. He likes to sniff n uncover. Bone robbery is his game. He is gentle and if a dog can be kind I would tag that on him. He doesn’t care to live at the kennel and without a foster that’s all we have for him. He is ready for adoption!!! But until then we are looking for a foster home with space. He gets along with dogs, we aren’t sure about cats. We would prefer not. He will resource guard his food due to his before life where he was denied adequate feeding. He is also a gobbler( fast eater). His personality is goofy, dopey and kinda fun! If you are looking to foster ( or adopt) a larger sized dog please give him a chance! You may reply in comments or message and we will get back in touch !
Oildale stray/abandon dog rescue continues. We have caught 3 of the 4 dogs and #4 is the most difficult. She’s now evading us and not coming out . If she would only cry uncle we will reunite her to the family and she will live a life she never dreamed of. This late afternoon when I went to check on her, I found a puppy, several doors down, sitting in a crate in the direct sun no shade to protect her. The crate was disgustingly dirty, and she was sitting in a bowl of empty water. It was just after five and county wasn’t answering, the sheriff gave us a song and dance, and I was truly afraid the puppy would die. Finally we got the owners attention and tried to educate him how leaving an animal in direct sunlight for a prolong time could kill. He really wasn’t showing much concern. It was breaking our hearts to leave the dog because he was keeping him in the crate. We asked for the dog and he would not relinquish. Finally his other half came out and gladly gave us the dog. She had not one nice thing to say about the dog and made it very clear She didn’t want it. This is one little half street in Oildale and upon it is so much poverty, ignorance and people with no concern because they truly don’t know better. Best for people like us to stay out of places like this because our hearts can’t take it. This has been 7 days of going daily 2 or 3 times each day. Each day we meet a new person or witness a neglected hungry animal. It’s all so discouraging. 🐕🐕🐕so now we have another dog🐕🐕🐕we wouldn’t have it any other way because leaving this puppy in that harmful situation was a non -negotiable. This dog is a cutie, so young deserving a better life. We need a foster !!!’ We really have no space and this puppy needs to be in a home learning how to be a dog, learning how to respond to commands, and getting positive reinforcement and lots of ❤️. 🐾♥️Donations needed!♥️🐾 We need your help to finally get these five spayed/neutered. 🐾When we first got them from someone who reached out that the mother bit one of the puppies causing the eye to pop, we paid for eye removal surgery (you all may remember and donated towards the surgery . Thank you) There were a total of 8. After the surgery that one was adopted by the foster. 🐾🐾By the time we got the others on july 29th, two had already passed away😔 this five came to us they were so malnutrition we couldn’t even do their vaccines. Also Angelo ended up partially blind. But he is so healthy and happy now!
