Finally got to meet up with my friend Dr. Amanda Donnelly in person at a recent conference! We bonded virtually over the book writing process over the past few years and finally were in the same place at the same time. Instagram has recently released a new feature that allows you to add multiple links to your bio! Here's how you can do it: 🔗 Open your Instagram profile and tap the "Edit Profile" button. 🔗 Tap on the "Website" field and type in the link you want to add. 🔗 Tap the "Done" button to save the link. 🔗 You can add more links by tapping the "Add Another Link" button. Type in the new link and tap "Done" to save it. 🔗 You can continue to add more links by tapping the "Add Another Link" button again. 🔗 To remove a link, simply tap on the "x" next to the link you want to delete. 🔗 Once you've added all the links you want, tap "Done" to save your changes. That's it! Now your followers can easily access all your important links right from your Instagram profile. 👩⚕️👨⚕ Veterinary clinics: I'm swapping out our linktree or other link expander pages and making sure our website, request an appointment, request a refill and leave us a refill pages are linked up. This will be great for featuring special services and lead magnets as they occur too! 🤓 Fellow creators: this will be great for featuring your books, podcasts, booking links and downloads!
I love first vet visit boards—- and so do clients! But make sure you’re not celebrating only those baby pets…and make sure your social icons are present so the clients know where to connect with your practice!

Instant replies are LIFESAVERS--save your staff time, avoid having to type the same thing over and over, and give your clients a better customer service experience. Use Facebook Messenger's Instant Replies to provide automatic responses such as when to expect a response or contact information for the nearest emergency clinic if they contact you after hours, plus many more options. Don't get overwhelmed by alllllll the tabs within insights. Ideally, if you know your practice's objective - the why you're doing social media (be it engagement, page likes, comments, etc) - focus on one or key metrics. Not sure where to start? Check out the posts tab to get a feel for how recent posts stack up - what worked and what didn't - plus an average of what times your page followers are online.

Pro tip: If phones are ringing off the hook at your practice, it's time to change your call to action button to literally anything other than "Call Now". Redirect them with a Book Now, Use App or Send Email button.

Hi! I’m Dr. Caitlin DeWilde
Hi! I’m Dr. Caitlin DeWilde. I am a small animal veterinarian and founder of The Social DVM. Along with my team, I work with veterinary professionals all over the US and UK to help them use social media to connect with their clients. I am passionate about combatting that jerk Dr. Google, and am a firm believer that we have a huge opportunity and to some degree, a responsibility, to use the internet and social media to educate pet owners. Ultimately, better educated pet owners = healthier pets, and that’s what we all set out to do, right? Keeping that goal and purpose in mind, I work with veterinary teams to help them deliver their message, their education topics, and their practice’s services to their clients, in their own voice. Every practice is different. Every one of them. Showing off what makes your practice different helps you connect with each individual, unique and different client out there, both existing and unique.
