This is Aston Martin (Marty). Don’t let the napping photos fool you, he is a fun little ball of energy. Marty likes to run circles in the house, play with all kinds of toys, and play with other dogs. He’s loved being along side his sister until she was adopted today. Marty would probably do well in a home with other dogs or as an only. He is getting quite good at letting us know when he needs to go outside to potty and never goes in his kennel. Marty is a very smart boy who loves to work treats out of toys and find food in a snuffle mat.

Marty is about 9 weeks old and a hound mix.

URGENT SITUATION.

Please our wheeling and surrounding close village neighbors, PLEASE help Heartland Animal Shelter by opening your homes to their shelter animals. Approx 5am today there was a water main break and flooded out their facility to around 2 feet of standing water. The pics say it all. PLEASE open your homes to them immediately.

This is Rover (aka R***r) he’s the goodest boy! He is part of the luxury car litter. Rover is one of the smaller puppies from his litter but he has a very very big personality! He loves to be outside, sometimes we have to go outside and physically carry him back in the house to take get him to take a break from the heat.

He is very playful but also loves to cuddle. He is super easygoing and loves to be held like a baby wrapped up in a blanket. He doesn’t love bath time but he tolerates it enough to let you get it done 😂

He is great with other dogs, puppies and older dogs however we are learning boundaries when other dogs don’t want to play. And he is great with children.

He’s working on crate training and alerting at night if he needs to go out and is working on potty training and signaling during the day if he has to be let out into the yard.
Rover is about 9 weeks old and a hound mix.

This is Andy! He has a very rough playful loving personality and is learning the word no and how to be gentle. He’s been doing phenomenal with potty training, and he knows how to sit! He loves kids and other dogs but we’re still trying to learn not to jump. He’s a total snuggle bug when he’s tired and just wants to snuggle up. He enjoys actually watching tv, head tilt and all when suspenseful music starts playing 😂 He’s definitely a curious George, and he follows his foster brother everywhere and is learning quickly from him and likes to pick on him a lot as well as snuggle by him ❤️

Andy came in as a solo pup. He is about 11 weeks old

Gusty, or as we nicknamed him now tubs or Wilbert due to him being solid and heavy. He is a very sweet and a little shy at first but once he knows you it's kisses around. He loves being outdoors. Doing great with potty time. He has learned some commands and tricks.The funniest thing us he snorts like a pig when happy and snores all night long. Such a little lover and tries to cuddle with all the foster family. Doesn't take pictures if you notice the side glances he gives me.
Gusty is about 6 months old

Tundra loves the outdoors and water, loves muddy rain puddles. He is getting use to bathtime due always playing in the muddy water. Also enjoys the baby pool.... playing in it day and night. He is doing great with going potty out side and has learned some commands. Not too fond of the leash but he has a backyard to run around in. He is still a cuddler when not swimming and his fur is so soft.
Tundra is kind of shy and needs some time to warm up. But once comfortable, he’s a real lover.
Tundra is about 6 months old

Decker is a fun loving dog. He is loves to play with kids and other dogs. Decker loves his dog toys and enjoys his treats. He enjoys sitting outside on the patio enjoying the weather. Decker is full of energy and when excited he likes to hop around on his back legs. He loves to cuddle with his humans. Decker has been potty trained outside and loves to go on walks although he likes to pull due to his excitement. He is overall an amazing dog and will make a great family dog.
Decker is just under a year old. He is crate, leash, and potty trained.

Meet Phoenix, a handsome and charming Bully mix. Phoenix is currently looking for a new home, due to no fault of his own. His family moved and couldn’t take him with them, so unfortunately Phoenix is again searching for his forever home. If you are looking for a new best friend, Phoenix is your man. He loves to play with people and his doggie foster brother Newt. He is a fast learner and has taken to training quite well. He would be an excellent hiking companion or intro to sports dog (such as barn hunt, lure coursing, or GRC). He would do well with moderate daily activity, but he can also be a couch potato! He really enjoys nature walks and playing with toys, his favorite game is tug! Phoenix is approximately 3 years old (?) and weighs roughly 55lbs. Phoenix can do well with other dogs, if introduced properly (we are more than willing to help with any dog introductions), and would do best with children over the age of 12. Some prior dog experience would be best, bully breed experience is a bonus. Phoenix would benefit from continued training and a confident handler.

My name is Lexus aka Lexi. I am from the luxury car litter
I am a princess! I love to explore the backyard looking for my next adventure.
My foster Mom is so excited because she asked me to sit and I did - only because I love the little treats she gives me.

Lexi is smart and a little sassy. She is eager to learn .
She is pretty good at letting you know when she has to go potty.
After outside time she will snuggle up and watch a movie with you and Chewy.

Meet Chance!

This stunning guy is an approximately 1 year old neutered male. Thought to possibly be a pitski (pit/husky). He is a compact 55 lbs.

Chance spent his last few months waiting in a kennel. He is now in a foster home learning his house manners. Chance is fully potty trained and loves to go outside to play with his dog foster brother. Although he enjoys treats, he LOVES toys! Squeaky toys are the best! It’s so sweet to see him light up when he sees toys.

Chance is a sweet as he looks. He loves all people and is learning how to play nicely with others dogs. He is super friendly with other dogs but is very playful.

Would you be willing to give Chance his forever? How could you say no to those eyes 😍

This handsome pup is Chewy (Chewbacca)
He is such a snuggle bug and so gentle. He will climb in your lap and take a nap.
He loves to watch you cook and lay at your feet when doing the dishes.
He loves to go on adventures in the yard with his foster sister Lexi ( Lexus).
Chewy is about 8 weeks old and a Great Pyrenees mix. He is the last one standing of the Fluffy litter! Scoop him up before he’s gone ❤️

Harry is looking for a Forever! ❤️

Hooch (fka hulk) is what we believe to be a dogue du Bordeaux mix. He’s just turned 2 years old and has a lot of puppy energy. He does well with other dogs and like to chase them up and down the fence line. Hooch is working on house manners and basic commands, but he takes corrections well. He would most likely do better with older children since he does pull on a leash and jumps. He loves catch, tug of war, and chewing on his toys. With a little time and training, you could easily make this handsome guy the best dog around ❤️

Alice/Allie Look at this sweet girl! Look how excited she is to get her very own princess tent! Photos to follow! Allie is potty trained and loves balls! Those are her Jam! She prefers multiple dog beds. She walks for short time on a leash really well. She loves attention but is happy if ur just around she will do her own thing. She does steal toys and stuffies! She prefers company to eat. Treats are amazing in her eyes. She does have some mobility issues due to being 8-9 years old. We giver her consequin to help out. Best not to have to many stairs to go up and down on. She would also do best as the only animal in the house. Dog and cat reactive

Blossom is a very social pup and loves interacting with other dogs! Look how sweet she is! She’s about 5 months old and looking for her forever home!
