I leave the girls unattended for one morning… 🤦🏼♀️
We thought at 10 or 11 Sharon was a bit old to bother riding but she has loved the attention so much and while we have Maddie (who is much more pony sized than the rest of us) on school holidays we figured we would play around with getting her under saddle. Safe to say day 1 went fine 😂
*Side note*- we have done a lot of groundwork towards this point and Jess has a lot of experience backing horses over the years. I would never condone getting on any unbroken horse without doing it in a safe and controlled environment and taking the necessary groundwork steps.
Mr Macaroni (owned by Helen Aitkenhead) also came along for a look round at the hunter trials. The focus was on good behaviour and he was fantastic, picking up a win in the intermediate hunter and a few other placings. We are hoping to have a bit of fun with him and Helen this season and are excited to see what he does!
I also got to have fun round the open hunters on Asta’s ‘auntie’ Guinness- at 21 she’s showing no sign of slowing down and we had an absolute blast round the open hunter classes. I was definitely just along for the ride 🫣 No video evidence of her, just bragging rights 🤷🏼♀️
We had a wonderful day out at Brackenfield Hunter trials yesterday- this is always a favourite day each year, such a relaxed, encouraging environment and great for the young horses!
Fancy Nancy was her usual delightful self, she has the most beautiful manners and is a joy to take out. She gave everything a go, said yes to everything I asked and picked up a 3rd in the heavyweight hunter flat class.
An introduction day for her in something I think she will be incredibly good at in the future- I can imagine her jumping the big rtr classes and workers at Canterbury a&p in the future 🤩
Nancy is still available and is going to be a huge asset to someone, her owner has done a wonderful job on her basics and she is ready to go!
Nancy working on the flat- she is super trainable and has great basics so we’ve just been putting some more ‘formal’ flatwork buttons on her. For a big horse she is lovely and responsive to leg and hand and I don’t find her a big horse to ride at all 🥰

I really need to get serious about moving on some of these ponies! They are all lovely ponies but I have a whole bunch of young horses that need working and not enough hours of the day!
Jeffy is back in work- last week he spent a bit of time learning to lead off PJ and today had a refresher on the long reins and I’ll hop back on him this week. Will be a very nice pony just needs a bit of time and finishing off. I am open to offers for him to an experienced home.
8yo gelding by Greenlee Downtown out of Owendale Patience (imp aus). He is bred to be a top show pony and is correct and straight.
Boy popping round a 1.115/1.20 track at home today. The ground is pretty slippery but he is such a workhorse and it doesn’t bother him much!
This guy is the ultimate confidence giver for an amateur/ junior/ pro am rider. Happily jumps out of a miss and just loves his job.

Nancy having a bit of fun out in the ‘cross country’ paddock today (use a bit of imagination- it’s very much unfinished 🫣)
She’s a pretty cool girl our Nancy, is very happy to give anything a go and has a really good safe jump with plenty of scope which is what we want on the hunt field!
She has siblings that have excelled in the working hunter/ RTR classes and I think this is something she could be very very good at! She would also make a beautiful Show Hunter with very naturally good technique and rhythm.
I find her wonderful to train and all the hard work has been done by her owner- she is ready to go and for someone to put their own finishing touches on. A real lovely honest type of horse who loves to work and please.

Boy out for a good canter in the paddock earlier in the week. He loves variety in his work and is up for pretty much anything. Hes such a darling to have around and is going to do so much for his next rider 🥰
We have moved!!
It’s old news to some as the rumour mill moves pretty fast but for anyone who doesn’t know/ is interested we are now located on Downs Road in Eyrewell Forest. We’ve only moved 10 minutes down the road and still very easy to find from the motorway but now with 85 acres to play with we are so excited to have more space, bigger paddocks, a purpose built facility and a whole lot more variety for the horses.
Watch this space as we get set up and a huge thanks to all of my clients for sticking with us and being so understanding through the uncertainty of shifting and the long process of setting up a new property.
A little video of Candice, one of our lovely breakers who we had for a pre start last year and has come back to be finished off, having a wander round the lanes on the long reins 🥰
Noah (Amalgam) having I school round 120/30 this morning. He is wicked fun and just loves his job. Will be a super competitive Junior/ Amateur/ Pro Am horse I think and he’s going to be super quick in a jump off too!

Cloud is just so much fun to jump! Jumping round a 1.30-40 track here no trouble at all. Will be a super fun competitive Pro- Am/Young Rider/ Mini Prix horse. Has results to 1.30 this season. SUPER honest, adjustable and has plenty of scope. We just love riding her and having her around!
Ngahiwi Nimbus- 16.3hh 10yo mare
A little snippet of Jeff’s session in the roundpen this morning. He is a lovely boy who is trying really hard, learning about transitions and rhythm, he’s taking a little longer as he’s a bit older but is going to make a beautiful pony.
13.3hh 8yo Riding pony gelding available partially started until the end of next week otherwise we will take him with us and finish him off at the new property.
