New twins on Elimatta. Congratulations to New Momma Arwen.

Why do goats always kid on the coldest days? The chihuahuas are making sure these ones stay warm by the woodstove.

Due to a family emergency last Fall, we were delayed in getting our barn cat spayed. As a result, we have a new litter of 3 kittens to find homes for (not before) June 1st. We won't s*x them until they are a bit older as we seem to have "issues" with s*xing the newborns. Oops. This litter was born on 16 March 2022. I am booking Momma cat's spay appointment next week (for as soon as they say she can go through the surgery).

Life likes to remind you that there are ups and downs to farm life....it can't always be sunshine and stall mucking 🙂. Sometimes it's fencing crises, hauling buckets of water in -30 deg weather.......

And tonight we mourn the loss of stillborn triplet goat kids. Perfectly formed, perfectly beautiful and lost to us and their Mom Lulu.

We are sad tonight.

Kittens are growing. We are still seeking homes for some of the striped females. Ready for new homes on Thanksgiving weekend. $30/kitten (to cover Momma's spay).

Our Momma barn cat has 7 fluffies. Looking for furever homes in 8 weeks time.

Please let me know if you are interested by PMing me. We haven't s*xed them yet but looks like 2 all black kittens, 2 calico and 4 striped babies. We are asking $30/kitten to help pay for Momma's spay clinic.

We have been experimenting with a new method of making goat cheese (chevre) and it's a hard life having to be an official taste tester.
The babies and I are learning how to share so that everyone is healthy and happy on Elimatta Farm.

I couldn't be more pleased with Ms. Lulu. First milking and she stood like a champ. Almost 5 cups and beautifully creamy. The babies are getting the majority of it....this time ;)

When you go outside.on your lunch break to check on the goats and find new life....incredible.

Lulu, a first time Mom, had these beautiful babies, all in her own and in the rain. A little buck and a doe.

Our goat herd has increased to 8....at least for the next 4 days. Vincent van Goat (aka Vinnie) and Huggles, our wethers, will soon become spoiled pets at another farm. Fiora and Riven join us from Moonshine Stables.

When Lulu has her baby/babies, our herd will be complete. ❤...at least that is what I told Kirk (🤫).
