Bonnie Parker's Visit to the Eye Doctor
Bonnie Parker had so much fun visiting Dr. Fife at Eye Care for Animals - Tampa, FL yesterday for her follow-up 💓 The inflammation of her left eye is resolved! Woo! However, the pressure in her left eye is still low indicating subclinical uveitis is still present 😞 She will be receiving eye drops to see if this may resolve the condition and will follow-up again with her doctor in a month. In the meantime, miss Bonnie Parker is available for adoption! https://www.rebelsrescue.com/animals/detail.php?AnimalID=20389583
Sometimes all it takes is a ball in a box for hours of entertainment 😹
Dennis the "gingermeez" is available for adoption through Rebels Rescue on our website! ❤️
Ever wondered what a cat's tail looks like without fur?! The little kitten we snatched up a couple weeks ago has kept us on our toes! The tip of her tail was dead when we got her. Today, we dropped her off for spay surgery and not only did she get fixed, but she also had the tip of her tail amputated! 😱 She is currently on antibiotics and pain meds and receiving some extra love and care tonight! She will be available for adoption soon she yes the hair will grow back :) Though we think she's just as beautiful as ever with a rat tail 😹
P.S. We named her Cecelia ♥️♥️♥️
Look who's strong enough to leave the incubator for some play time?!
Little miss Lila!! 😻 Just a week ago today she came to us with an abscess, pneumonia, and nearly paralyzed! She had no use of her legs and could just barely lift her head. After a vet visit and lots of intensive care, Lila is slowly getting her spunk back! We're still taking it day by day, but today was a triumphant day for Lila💗

Look who graduated from the incubator yesterday and was up and about checking out her new penthouse last night! ❤️ Bonnie Parker was nearly lifeless last week. She was too weak to even stand to eat. A week later and she has doubled in weight, willingly eats full meals, and is learning to play 🙌 She even meows and chirps for affection. Her quick turnaround has us blown away and her progress continues to amaze us every day!
P.S. we did add a ramp to the shelf for her after the video :) She's very curious about the multi-levels, but hasn't found the confidence yet to climb around. We don't doubt she'll be jumping and climbing all over her enclosure any day now!
Why don't we have better photos of Bear?! Because he loves attention and pets! He can't help himself! As soon as he catches you looking in his direction, he pops up and rushes over for some love! ❤️
When you're hoping to raise the next generation of pet rescuers & your little volunteer chooses this.... the future is looking bright!! ✨😻💕

Emmy Lee eating her last meal before her cleft repair surgery tomorrow morning! We really hope it's the last meal she'll ever have to struggle through. Eating has been a challenge for her since the day she came into our rescue. And the determined girl she is, she's turned her nose up to every dry food we tried. So pate wet food sans the gravy it was! Little does she know, she'll be on a strict wet food diet for several days post surgery, which means we finally get to spoil her with all the soupy, gravy-fied wet food she has dreamed of! Please send positive vibes her way for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
Meet our senior gal Gracie!
Meet our senior gal Gracie!
Gracie, formerly an indoor/outdoor cat, is looking for a human to finally call hers and a home where she can enjoy the finer life…inside! She thrives on human affection and loves to be brushed. She also loves to be pet and will follow you around and gently headbutt you just to get attention. Her foster mom says Gracie is quite the talker and loves to chat! We can only imagine the stories she could tell!
The veterinarian estimated Gracie to be about 12-years-old, but you would never be able to tell by her active lifestyle and playful personality! We like to say she's 12-years-young! 😹
Gracie would do best in a quiet home where she will be the only cat. She would also prefer a home without dogs or children.

Emmy Lee is officially scheduled for her cleft repair surgery!
After receiving a quote for just under $5,000 🙀, we decided to "shop" around a bit. $5,000 is a substantial amount for any rescue, especially one as small as ours and when it comes to saving lives, every dollar counts! Emily Lee had a consultation with another surgeon last week who quoted us at a fraction of the cost AND it includes her spay surgery, along with all the routine services our fosters receive prior to becoming eligible for adoption!
We are absolutely ecstatic and we can't wait for Emmy Lee to be able to experience a more comfortable, normal life without all of the nasty side effects her cleft causes. Thank you to all who have donated to make this surgery (and her vet visits, consultations, and medications) possible! If you would like to contribute towards the cost of Emmy Lee's corrective surgery and ongoing care post-surgery, donations directly benefitting Emmy Lee can be made at https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=SJ95M9CCDTPXS
When you think your sister is finally on your playing level, but realize she's just trying to suckle your face... then you discover you have paws...
Welcome to Rebels Rescue, Pugsley and Wednesday. These two sweet neonates were saved from PRC Wednesday and are now safe in foster care!

Emmy Lee was so excited to see her foster mom after her sedated exam ❤ The Internal Specialist confirmed Emmy Lee does have a cleft of her soft palate in the rear of her mouth. She will need surgery to close the cleft. The next step is a consultation with the surgeon to arrange the surgery. She will also need pre-op blood work to ensure she can safely undergo anesthesia.
We are looking at a total cost of a few thousand dollars. This is quite a lot for a small rescue, but medical conditions and the associated costs are a risk we assume every time we bring a new pet into our rescue, and it's a risk well worth taking to save lives! In all our years, we've never had to deny a foster pet the medical they needed and we aren't going to start now. Emmy Lee is a fighter and a miracle. She wouldn't have survived if she had not been found when she was, nor would she have survived if she hadn't received the appropriate care to assist with the challenges caused by her cleft. While the survival rate of cleft palate is fairly good, secondary infections and potential pneumonia can be fatal. We can't imagine allowing either to happen to our little Emmy Lee after everything she's already overcome and this is why the surgery is super important!
Please continue sharing Emmy Lee's story and fundraiser to help us raise enough funds for her surgery 🙏 https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=SJ95M9CCDTPXS. All donations made through Emmy's fundraiser go directly towards covering the cost of Emmy Lee's medical.
Although we were hopeful for a better diagnosis, we are very relieved to finally know what is causing Emmy Lee's issues and be able to move forward with a treatment plan to give her the best chance at a normal, healthy life. Your donations play a significant role in this and we appreciate your love and support!
