KUE
4 May 2008 – 26 March 2024
Kue. Kue gained her wings on Tuesday.
Kue traveled probably 200,000 miles or more with me and her canine sisters. She was the reserved member of the crew. She shied away from competing and from photos - but she was there at every competition and expo, every vacation and family get-together, every road trip and camping trip, and countless drives into Glacier National Park. Kue hiked on the Continental Divide trail in Colorado, pine forests in Arizona, and countless places in Montana. She traveled from Washington to Indiana and from Texas to North Dakota and all the states in between. Kue took it all in with bright eyes and a wagging tail.
Kue was not in the spotlight, but she excelled in her role of canine support. She was the neutral ground – the calm space between her often overly-competitive sisters. She was the good hairy kid who tried to do the right thing and never cause trouble.
Kue was smart and she was beautiful. She had the funniest little teeth-baring grin that she showed at bashful moments. She loved to run and bark in the grass and to play in the snow. She loved ice cream. Kue was a watcher. She observed the world and made her way through it with a happy and trusting spirit and with great kindness. She was sensitive to those around her – human and canine alike.
Kue was a part of the making of every dream and every memory the four of us shared.
Kue always – always – put her best paw forward.
I love you so much, Kue. You were a good girl. I am proud of you. Thank you for all that you gave to me and to our family. I love you always and will hold you in my heart until we meet again someday on the other side.
