It's interesting and also shocking to see people's continued praise and support of our government.
Breaking it down it goes a lot like this.
"They never knew it was coming"
Yes, they did. As early as January they were warned.
"No one could have prepared for this"
Yes, they could. We actually ran a government pandemic response exercise that highlighted a lack of ventilators as an issue.
"People aren't turning up for testing"
This one really shocks me. Actual blaming victims of the disease for not driving miles to a testing centre is grotesque.
"They don't stockpile PPE"
This is interesting and again goes back to preparation, or a lack of it. They could have ordered plenty but chose not to.
"This isn't political"
When a government makes a decision it becomes political. Saying things aren't political is childlike at best.
"They can't help every business"
Well right now hardly any business have been able to access money as there are more holes in Rishi Sunaks rescue package than swiss cheese.
The government is only guaranteeing 80% of the loans and this means many/vast majority are being refused by banks for rescue loans.
"Not everyone will escape hardship"
Really!!! In comparison with the borrowing for WW2 we haven't even scratched the surface. Most people in Britain pay over £5,000 in indirect taxes, let alone our corporate and income tax.
If the government can't help the people now, when exactly will it?
"You can't blame Boris for the Tories over the last 10 years"
Are you kidding me, Boris was an MP who cheered when the Tories won a vote against an increase in Nurses wages.
He has been foreign secretary and a voting member of parliament for some time. Make no mistake he voted for austerity.
"Boris Johnson is a good leader".
I can't deal with this one with a straight face. We have video after video of his views on this virus. He is incompetent.
He missed the first 5 COBRA meetings about this virus to attend fundraisers and go on a working holiday with his girlfriend.
"Be positive, stop complaining about the government"
Over 15,000 people have now lost their lives, go tell their families to be positive, yeah, I didn't think so. Telling people to stop criticising the government is a bit like telling people to live in a communist state. The government needs criticising right now. Also myself and others like me are not responsible for your positive state of mind.
If reality is getting you down, Facebook is not the place for you right now.
"The NHS will have to re use PPE"
Anyone who thinks this is right needs a long hard look in the mirror. Before slapping themselves.
"At least the others aren't in right now, they would have been terrible"
Ahh, and now we get to it all.
If the government told the truth about our death figures we would be the second most effected in the world.
We get it, you don't like Jeremy Corbyn.
But saying a lifelong politician with a strong record on humanitarian issues would do worse against a racist, homophobic, sacked journalist, who missed 5 cobra meetings about the virus and managed to oversee one of the highest death rates in any non war sitting and is now sitting in his luxury tax payer funded retreat is hilarious.
Corbyn couldn't actually have done any worse if he had tried.
Now, let's make this clear, crystal clear with a cherry on top.
STOP PRAISING THE GOVERNMENT.
They don't deserve it and it mocks the efforts of our public services that they have stripped of money for a decade.
