Our little Sassafras turned 13 today! She decided she wanted to wear the purple pupcake bandana to match her tail 💜🐾 swipe to see what she thought of her birthday treat 👉🏻😋

Sassy doesn’t get much camera time around here - she’s a little camera shy & much prefers to direct behind the scenes, but she’s the Queen 🐝 in this house. We don’t know when Sassy’s *real* birthday is, and somehow April 25 became the designated day. We found her running along our road when she was about 6 months - 1 yr old. She had just had puppies and we’re pretty sure someone dumped her after she had her litter. We’re so glad she made her way into our home and their loss was our gain! She truly is a Little Miss Sassy Pants 💁🏻‍♀️

I ran a stories poll a few weeks ago asking about your preferences for personalization. Keeping the name going up the side of the bandana overwhelmingly won (💯), but it was a 50/50 split for font options. I decided to switch it up and go with a blockier font for this last collection. BUT, if you prefer the script font from collections past, just leave me a note at check out and I’d be happy to use that font on your personalized bandanas instead!

What Winnie Wore: The Series - March Week 1

Do you remember when I said a few weeks ago that I would be starting a “What Winnie Wore” series? Well, I finally got my butt in gear and am posting her first week! I wanted to start this series as there are so many cute everyday prints that I don’t give enough attention, plus I’ve been slacking when it comes to making sure Winnie gets “dressed up” each day. So my hope is that this series will get me to accessorize her more and, if I’m being entirely truthful, make it easier for me to post more regularly (because let’s be honest, I’m pretty terrible at it 🙈)

About Us

Hi there! I'm Lauren, the owner of Winnie and the Hound. We're a small shop based out of sunny Naples, Florida, and it all started the summer of 2020. I have always dreamed of working with pets in some way and, after losing my corporate job due to the effects of Coronavirus, decided it was time to put my background in fashion and sewing to work for the pet community. I also found that I wasn't happy with most bandanas I bought for my pup Winnie from the "big box" stores or websites. They were all either over-priced, didn't hold up, or didn't fit her well. So, I started to making her bandanas in my spare time. I love creating with new prints and patterns and, because of that, you'll find that a lot of our bandanas are reversible with complementary patterns and color. I pour my heart into each piece I create and truly love this new path I'm taking. I hope that shows in everything I do and that you and your pup love each piece as much as I do!
