Misty would like to invite all of her long-snoot friends to a Christmas party at her favourite park!

We will set up camp under a shady tree, sniff around, chill-out, eat some snacks and of course - eat sardine cake!

🌟 SERVICE UPDATES 🌟

Dog walking -

I've resumed dog walking in Preston, Thornbury and Northcote! I have capacity to take on more dog walks on Monday's and Friday's 🐶

Home boarding -

We are moving house in January, to an apartment in Preston South. We are aiming to offer boarding again from the start of February. Due to being an apartment, we will only be offering short term boarding (e.g long weekend, up to one week).

🌈 RAINBOW BRIDGE - IZZY 🌈

⚠️ Content warning - dog attack, pet death.

This is by far the saddest post I have ever written, I write this in tears. I feel the need to make an acknowledgement of what has happened.

Just over two months ago, on August 10, one of our beautiful greyhound friends crossed the rainbow bridge.

Her name was Izzy, and she was one of the sweetest souls we have ever met. For those who know us, know how much we love dogs (especially greyhounds) and we love all dogs in our care like our own. Izzy was no different, though she was extra special. She stayed with us twice for several weeks at a time, and joined Misty's birthday party last year. She snuggled in our bed and immediately felt like part of our family. As Misty's birthday approaches again, we think of her and hope she is getting lots of yummy treats wherever she is.

Izzy's life was taken tragically during a random and unprovoked dog attack while out on a walk with us. We fought for her with everything we had, but we were fighting the impossible and couldn't save her. Our heart is broken for her owners and we are collaborating with them to fight for justice.

We have taken some time to heal, and while the pain slowly subsides, a deep scar remains.

Our request to the community is that if you ever suspect a dog is neglected, mistreated, dangerous, or has attacked you or your dog please report this to animal welfare (RSPCA) and / or the local council. Reporting the owners of such dogs could save a life. Importantly, ALL owners should have their dog on lead unless in a designated off lead area. Please join me in reporting the above to help make the community safer for everyone.

*** HOME BOARDING SUSPENSION ***

Dear friends,

Misty, Nathan and I are taking some time off to heal from a traumatic incident that occurred last week. We won't be providing any boarding or daycare services until further notice. I've messaged everyone with upcoming bookings individually.

I'll post an update here when we are ready to resume boarding again. At this stage, we are not sure how long we will need.

At the moment I can only offer group walks in Reservoir. Group walks in other suburbs might be possible in the future with enough interest.

*** BOARDING INTAKE PAUSE ***

We have decided to hit the "paws" button on our intake process for new dogs. This means that we will only continue to board greyhounds who have stayed with us atleast once before.

Misty has a long list of 20+ loyal friends and would like to prioritise spending time with them as she approaches her golden years.

We will reassess in approximately 6 months.
