We are working hard pulling together our 2025 events programme! 💪

We would love some input on what sort of events you would like to see from us next year! 🍄 Whether thats more cultivation workshops, different methods of cultivation, more plant id workshops, soil science, or ecology workshops! What would you like to learn and attend? 🍄‍🟫

We would also love to get a sense of how much appetite there is for events that happen during weekdays, rather than just weekends and evenings 🌱

Any input is really appreciated! Thankyou in advance 💚

Humanity is completely dependent on 4 inches of topsoil for all our food. But what do we know about the soil and why is it rapidly disappearing?

Join Myco for our 2025 Soil Science Weekender, where we will deep dive into the soil both figuratively and literally. This course will give you a good understanding of soil profiles, texture, chemistry and erosion. We will cover some in the field tests to help you understand the soil you are working with better.

Join Myco for this weekend long deep dive into what makes woodlands tick.

This course combines classroom learning with field trips to ask questions about what plants and fungi can tell us about their environment; are they indicators of ancient woodland, how do people and animals use the space, and what can they tell us about the soil?

Have the autumn leaves 🍂 got you dreaming of spring already? 🌸

These little guys are spores of the Common Earthball, Scleroderma citrinum under a microscope stained with Congo Red stain.

The mushroom we took these spores from was young, so you can still see some of the hyphae (the squiggly bits) which should disappear by the time the mushroom reaches full maturity. If you look closely at the spores themselves, you can see they are spherical with warty ornamentations.
