Lovely yard get together..we kept warm up at the house this year after the storm of last week..comfort and joy was the menu and mince pies!
Happy safe riding to all ..lovely catch up and thinking of Ernest of course.

Congratulations Daphne winning the DIL at Marlton today.As well as being an amazing role model Daphne has set us all up for some Christmas cheer.Sammy looks amazing too!

Large stable coming up ..60 x 40 arena .365 days turnout (.except in exceptional weather then we have a sacrifice paddock to accommodate this climate change activity)
Turnout 7am to 2pm in Winter..7 to 5pm Summer.
Lots of hacking on land and lanes nearby also ..

It was our first day to trial the 'sacrifice paddocks ' to allow the horses clear their heads while the fields drain after inches of rain last night ..so far so good both horses and clients happy.
We are anticipating a tough Winter and want to avoid horses standing inside all day on those days when it is really bad ..Their normal routine is 7am to 2.30pm out in Winter so this is a compromise on those days.

In Summer they pretend you are not there ..Come Autumn and a rainy day it's " Hey you it's time to go in"
We have had to plan ahead for those days when the ground is so bad where fields are soaked ..this is a ' sacrifice paddock ' where they can go out for a few hours until the land drains ..After last year we had to have a plan.. .Ŵe are fortunate to have the space to do it ..it allows the horses to clear their heads..and live normally amid the changing seasons ..it can be a starvation paddock in Summer ! We have to adapt and change as it changes .. #

Daphne coming third at the National Championship is just amazing and continues to leave us in awe of her talent , and her get on and get the job done attitude..What a role model for us all.

Very peaceful here today ..lovely to have the option of a 40 minute drive to the RDS to see amazing riders and horses or just chill..out and about .

'The hundred acre wood ' as it was known from Winnie the Pooh' when Sam and Ellie were small.or the bluebell wood as it is known for obvious reasons..lots of bluebells wild garlic , all sorts of creatures so biodiversity at its best, living together in harmony ..its a very special place. Clearing it now so our lovely liveries can hack properly through it over the Summer ☀️.
