I would like to introduce our newest resident to the Rescue, Mariah!! 🎅🏻🐹❄️

Mariah has found her furever home, with me and all my critters, just in time for Christmas! 🎄

Maraiahs previous owners could no longer care for her, and thought of me straight away! (of course! 🤣)

She is such a confident, sassy, lovely little lady, who has fit right in to my weird and wonderful little family! 🐾

Antifreeze spills and leaky engines are a lethal threat to our pets. Ethylene glycol, the main ingredient in antifreeze, is extremely toxic. Unfortunately, it is naturally sweet, which is why pets are tempted to drink it. As the weather continues to drop colder, please be extremely cautious of spills and leaks ❄️

Ethylene glycol is also found in car screen wash, brake fluid, radiator fluid and some garden water features. Even small amounts, if swallowed, is deadly as it causes permanent damage to the kidneys.

Symptoms of antifreeze poisoning in dogs and cats:
- Wobbliness and weakness
- Vomiting
- Low energy (lethargy)
- Drinking and weeing more to begin, and then less than normal
- Difficulty breathing or fast breathing
- Seizures (fits)
- Collapse

Sadly, antifreeze poisoning is usually fatal unless it’s treated extremely quickly. Call your vet immediately if you think your pet has come into contact with antifreeze - don't wait for symptoms to appear!⚠️

A bit of a more serious post from me, but I wanted to put it out there, especially for this time of year, and onwards.

I know this time of year can be extremely hard for people, in every aspect, especially financially. This is why it is so important, especially for small businesses, to stay a float and be supported.

For bookings, I do ask for a small, non refundable deposit. Unfortunately, Ive had too many cancellations for December, that have not provided a deposit, leaving me with gaps to fill, and of course a loss of a wage; which also supports my Animals.

I completely understand December is a difficult month, and we all try to get by; circumstances of course can also change, which I do understand -

But if you do have a booking with a small business, please cancel in advance, not last minute, so the slot can be filled, and the person knows what they are doing. Please also respect and acknowledge a deposit when booking a service, it is there so a complete loss is avoided for the small business.

I absolutely love my job, and love being my own boss, but it can definitely be tricky and disheartening at times, when you get let down.

I am fully licensed, insured, and checked, to provide a 5 star service. I work very hard on my own, with over 50 Animals; I pay for what I do, and the service I provide.

Just please be mindful, all year round, and support our local, small businesses!! 🐾❤️

He did so much work for wildlife conservation and education.
He is especially important to my husband (who has a "Crikey!" tattoo) because not only did Steve Irwin inspire a love of animals but he was also a positive male role model for him growing up.

We attended his Birthday Party, for the 3rd year in a row; and I couldn’t believe how grown up he is, and how good his Animal skills and knowledge still are!! 🥰🐾
