Today in St Paul’s Bay, residents gathered outside Azzopardi Fisheries in a protest organised by Sandra Gauci, councillor and ADPD chairperson, against the ongoing slime pollution from fish farms.
This is not only an environmental disaster but also an ethical one. Fish farms overcrowd animals in cages, producing tons of untreated waste that suffocates marine life and pollutes our shores. Licences were granted knowing the damage they would cause, once again, profit was put before people, animals, and the environment.
Where there is greed, someone gets rich while others are left to pay the price.
