What a day everyone ! The sun was shining right up until we had to pack up ⬆️
Thank you everyone for coming and being great sports ! The place was spotless 👏
Lots of happy faces human and canine running / hiking round .
Huge thanks to all the team who worked tirelessly settting up / clearing up and all the marshals keeping everyone safe .
Huge thanks to Traquair House for hosting us once again and allowing us to be within this magical estate 🏡. The trails are like no other .
Big thanks to our sponsors Butternut Box without their support these events wouldn't take place .

Camping 🏕️ field is nice and dry and weather is looking great 👍 😎

All opens from 3pm tomorrow you can arrive and visit Traquair House before that but will have to park out with field ..

If you are just coming for the event wait until 3 pm 🕒

Hello 👋 everyone please 🙏 read :

Event info packs have been emailed if you've not received it link is here 👇

Please do not arrive before 3pm.. this is when we are open for event guests .

Camping 🏕️ is for Saturday evening only .. you don't need to book there is lots of space - you must pay for camping at registration before the event .. you won't be registered ®️ until you pay 💰 so don't forget .

Camping is £10 per vehicle and is cash 💰 ONLY .

Please 🙏 do NOT bring your dog 🐕 to registration, get one person in your party to register the other stay with dogs or keep dog in vehicle whilst you register .

If you are that person that insists on bringing their dog anyway .. do NOT allow them to jump on the table , lift their leg to p*e or toilet at registration que .

Briefing times are all in the info pack ..

Kids briefing will be at 4pm, adults / team briefing is 5:30pm

You should be registered just before or a little after briefing time 🕰️

Dogs must be on leads at all times through out the event , before , during and after .

There are wild life , cattle and 🦚 peacocks who freely roam.

Please use rubbish bins provided or take rubbish away with you . If you see a 💩 bag that has been left (forgot ) lift it and bin 🗑️ it .

Traquair cafe is open but only taking order until approx 4pm

We will have a coffee and cake van coming along - sadly I can't get anyone to do hot food .. so if anyone knows a local burger / chip van send them our way .

Adults can accompany kids on the kids course .. adults don't get a medal as not entered .

Families running together as teams on full course you all get a medal 🏅 at the finish line .

Barry Murphy will be on site taking pics .. I'll upload his links when he has them .

There will be a chemical toilet 🚻 in the field .. there is a tap for access to water just ask us where .. no hose .. bring towels .

Don't forget you can camp 🏕️ after the event on site .. you pay at registration.

Signing up as a team works out cheaper .. tag 🏷️ your buddy and do it with company .. if they are too fast or too slow then you can complete in your own time 🕰️ also.

Keep them safe or be out run by them.. adults don't need to enter the mucky pups - just the kids .

If you want to go round and do full course and get your own medal 🏅 then enter the adult course too !

Ruff Dugger the event you have time to stop 🛑 mid run and get a photo with your team .

Ruff Dugger isn't just for adults, the children are very welcome to get involved too as part of the Mucky Pups event for ages 6-14.

Children aged 6-10 must run with an adult round the entire course for safety and control of the dog.
Adults can accompany older children if they wish.
Note -
1. The child should be entered to the event, the accompanying adult does not need to enter separately, they are free.
2. Children should not be in control of large strong or anti-social dogs.

What's the point if you don't get a time 🕰️ 🤓

The point is you get to run / hike , experience trails that are not open to anyone (trust us we have a farmer to
Negotiate) .. trails that are steeped in history ..

You start at the bear 🐻 gates which are normally only open when a king is in reign (this is the first year that's happened ).

You run under a yew tree circle that are thousands of years old .

You run round Scotland's largest hedged maze with a guide to not get lost or run head on into an other dog 🐕

You run past Traquair house and through the stunning gardens , the house that Mary queen of Scot's once stayed, over 400 years ago.

This is not a bog standard country park , or park run route .

This is a course that has been designed with adventure , sense of achievement and escapism that is fun , challenging yet achievable with a dog in mind.

Your dog doesn't know nor care if you are given a time or place . Your dog does however care that inside you are less anxious or nervous or secretly raging that the chick form the other club who you always beat has now got herself a massive pointer and thrashed by you.

Your dog will love the lack of pressure , the fact you all get a medal at the end, or that you are running with friends. Your dog will appreciate the team work and effort required to cross the quair together.

Your dog will appreciate to run on ground that is kind / soft and trails exciting to them.

So before you write ✍️ Ruff Dugger off because your now "competitive " from a multiple British Champion who has raced world wide - trust me this event is something for all .

And if your still too good to take part we are always welcome 🙏 to those deeply involved in the sport helping out and supporting others . So don't miss out .

You can camp 🏕️ on site on the Saturday night ... you pay at registration it's £10 per vehicle .

The field is large , fine for camper vans , tents alike .

Facilities are basic .. chemical toilet and access to tap 🚰

We like to have a wee social on the saturday night .. so bring your carry out and chat 💬

Unlike other canicross events , Ruff Dugger you can enter as a "team" and run with your friend .. this works out cheaper than individual entry . It also makes it so much more fun , especially if they fall in the mud before you 😈
