🚨 URGENT: Small Dog Fosters Needed ASAP!🚨

We need immediate foster homes for small dogs! We believe they may be Shih Tsu or Shih Tsu mixes.

If you can open your heart and home, please find our foster application on our website, fill it out and send it in RIGHT AWAY - we need to place these dogs as soon as possible.

Yesterday, we received a distressing call about 11 small-breed dogs abandoned in a nearby home. These poor pups have been alone for over a week with no food, no water, and no care. Tomorrow, we’ll be assisting Sable Kennel animal control in rescuing these dogs.

We don’t yet know their ages, s*x, medical conditions, or temperaments, but what we do know is they need help now.

💔 How You Can Help:
We need temporary foster homes for these pups — just for a week or so — until they can either enter our shelter when we have space or find their forever homes.

🎶 Benson and Boone are ready to sing their way into your heart! 🎵
Benson and Boone are an adorable pair of brothers, just shy of turning one year old, and they are looking for a home where they can grow and thrive together. These two are a bonded duo, meaning they need to be adopted together.
🐱 Benson is the more outgoing of the two. Once he gets to know you, he’ll shower you with affection and is always ready for a good snuggle. 🐈 Boone, on the other hand, is a little more reserved and can be easily spooked in new situations. But don’t let that fool you – once he feels comfortable and safe, he’s just as sweet as his brother and loves a good petting session.
Though they’re still adjusting to their new environment, they’ve shown an interest in toys and are starting to come out of their shells. With time, patience, and plenty of love, these boys will be the perfect companions who will enjoy playing, relaxing, and cuddling with their new family.
Benson and Boone are good with other cats, but we are unsure how they’d do with dogs at this time. They would thrive in a calm, loving environment where they can feel secure as they continue to grow and show their full personalities.

Her foster gave her the name Miss Houdini because, in the beginning, she was a master of sneaky hiding spots! But once she feels safe, this sweet girl comes out of her shell and enjoys being petted and playing with toys.

Miss Houdini has officially retired from motherhood—now that her kittens are weaned, she’s ready to be an independent lady! She does well with other cats and would be happiest in a home with a feline friend. While we’re not sure how she’d do with dogs or small children, she would be fine with older, cat-respectful kids.

📲 Create and schedule posts featuring adoptable animals, shelter events, educational content, and fundraisers
📷 Capture photos and videos of our animals to showcase their personalities
🐶🐱 Work hands-on with our cats and dogs to understand their needs and ensure safe handling for content creation
📝 Write engaging, well-edited posts with a professional tone
📩 Communicate regularly with our staff to receive the latest updates and additional photos of adoptable pets

🐶 Turner – Male, 1 year old, 67lbs
✨ One of the goodest boys you’ll ever meet! This handsome guy loves snuggling once he’s out of his kennel. He’s super dog-friendly, likely good with cats, and best with older kids due to his size. Turner enjoys squeaky toys, walks well on a leash, and is the biggest love bug around.

🐶 Paco – Male, 1 year old, 60lbs
💕 If pets and treats were a sport, Paco would be an Olympic champion! He’s working on leash and obedience skills but is eager to learn. Paco thrives in a home without cats and with older teenaged kids. He’s dog-friendly and would do well with a female dog sibling. Bonus: His big, kissable head is irresistible!

🐶 Marshal – Male, 1 year old, 50lbs
🐾 A loyal companion who loves his people and his dog friends! Marshal requires another dog in his home for support. He’s an adventurer at heart and would do best with older children. Good with cats and ready to find his forever person.

While we really don't see the Pittie in her … it's debatable … we didn't want her to feel left out! Sunna insisted on joining the party! 🎉 She’s a high-energy, playful girl who adores toys and walks. Sunna does well with other dogs but would be best with older, respectful children since she’s a bit nervous with loud sounds and fast movements.

🐾 Today is World Spay Day! 🐾

Every year, millions of cats and dogs enter shelters across the country, and sadly, many never make it out. The heartbreaking reality is that hundreds of thousands of healthy, adoptable animals are euthanized every year simply because there aren’t enough quality homes for them. Even with no-kill shelters across the country, there is simply not enough available space.

Spaying and neutering is the most effective way to combat pet overpopulation. A single unaltered female cat and her offspring can produce over 400,000 kittens in just seven years, while an unspayed female dog and her puppies can lead to tens of thousands of dogs in that same time.

Beyond helping reduce the overwhelming number of homeless animals, spaying and neutering also has major health benefits for pets:
🐶 Prevents life-threatening infections like pyometra in females
🐱 Reduces the risk of mammary, uterine, and testicular cancers
🐶 Helps curb behavioral issues such as spraying, roaming, and aggression
🐱 Increases the chances of a longer, healthier life
