After 36 yrs Francis is my first to finish completely in the Breed by class.
I have usually started them in puppy or used a handler because of work, health, or life in general.
Well, what a weekend Francis had, he came out looking to start his Grand Championship and won 2 BOB'S, 2 BOS, pulled in the Group on Friday, a RBIS Owner handler on Friday, Sunday BOB , Group 2, and OH Group 2.
We are grateful to Breed judges Mr. Joe Walton and Mrs. Susan St. John Brown. Honored by Group Judge Mrs.Ann Savory Bolus and Owner Handler Group Judge Thomas Baldwin.
Thank you all for the wonderful compliments on Francis. He's only 18 months old, we think he has a bright future ahead of him.

Why it's important to trim your dog's nails..
Heads up folks
This also applies to any golden, lab doodles. Stop paying money for mix breeds to breeders who only care about cash not healthy specimens of a breed.
And don't even get me started on " silver labs" 😜
Dog days of summer
So proud of Francis. Winning under judges that know our breed and that I respect, definitely a weekend I won't forget.

Thistle Whitfield's Lighten Up ( GCh Tarrendayle Whitfield Collude x Ch.Whitfield's Golden Thistle) Francis made us proud going Best Of Breed 4-6 at the 2021 National.
Francis much like his mother has taken his time to mature and still has a bit to go. We were absolutely thrilled to place with him in the Bred By class to much more mature dogs at the Regional.
He was BOW at New England Sporting Assoc. for a 4pt major then went RWD to Smalls in the afternoon.
Can't wait until he is fully mature. To me Francis is a very correct cocker. Thank you to all his fans and breeders who have been so complimentry of him. Bred and loved by Karen Whitfield & Erin McKechnie.
When Karen Griswa sent me pics of this litter ( GCh.Ainsley's Special Order X Ch. Whitfield Danby Pond All Night Rave) I saw Smalls and knew he would be a fun puppy to show.
What a whirlwind it has been.
First weekend out to lead break for the National at 6 months, 2 BOB's, 5pts including a major !!!
AT the National placing even though he looked way too mature for 6-9 class. Second weekend out just 8 months old,New England Sporting Assoc. shows RWD AM show to Francis (his housemate) then afternoon show 4pt major BOW. He followed up the next two shows going BOW. 11pts.
Thank you Karen Griswa for letting Smalls make me enjoy showing dogs again!

Good boys
I rarely do a passing posts but this girl has lived quite the life and touched so many lives here as well as the UK.
Celia was a dog like none other. She loved EVERYONE and NOTHING phased her. She was destined to touch many lives and bring many people into our lives.
Celia finished her AKC Championship here in short order. After all her health testing she embarked on a journey to her homeland to be the guest of Jane Simmonds and Andrew Jones.
At her first show she went BIS , always was in the ribbons and won her class at London cocker.
After her wonderful litter by Ch Kyna By Request she came home with 2 sons. A daughter(Shenmore She's a Rainbow)Andrew and Jane kept won well for them.
GrCh Shenmore Stateside (Rupert) stayed with me and sired several GrChampions one even finding his way to Toni Dennis at Tarrendayle in Australia.
Rupert now rules my granddaughters hearts.
Ch.Shenmore Special Request owned with Erin McKechnie even worked a bit in obedience as well.
After Celia came home she spent her retirement with a friend's son and his daughter. Here is where Celia really shined. She loved her people with her heart and soul. She was meant to be their heart dog. No one will miss her more than Marc & Nila.
I know if she could have she would have stayed forever with them but unfortunately that's not how life is.
Thank you Celia for bringing so many people into my life. You were one of a kind. I can NEVER thank Marc & Nila enough for all the love they showered on you.
Godspeed good girl, see you again one day.
