Training Trick! Working on haltering with a mustang who’s a little nervous about having hands close to her face. Using a training stick is a great way to introduce a halter for the first time while giving the horse a little more space to process what is happening. Leading up to this I spent a lot of time just rubbing Buho with the training stick alone and rewarding her for standing still. Then when I introduced the halter it wasn’t such a big deal. A little more practice on that and I was able to slip the halter over her nose and tie it in place. Go Buho!
Day two of training with my mare for the 2023 Mustang Magic! This girl is going to be another special one! Keep an eye on her she will be available after the competition in January. Now here come all the haters to tell me this isn’t a wild horse 😜
I tried to take my family for a ride but my son is getting too big 🥺😜
Look ma, no hands 🤪 Vienna and I have been working hard on seat control and vocal cues to produce such nice down transitions and stops off the seat. She’s killing it lately!
