While it would be nice if we could track our pet's with a microchip... we can't! So what is it for?
A microchip is a tiny, permanent ID embedded under your pets skin that contains your contact information, making it easier to reunite with your lost pet if they’re found by a vet or shelter.
However, it’s important to note that a microchip is not a GPS tracker. It won’t provide real-time location updates. Additionally, while microchips are essential for pet safety, they should not replace traditional ID tags, which are also crucial for quick identification.
Ensure your pet’s microchip information is current and keep them safe with a collar and ID tags!

Did you know you can rent fenced yards, private hiking areas, and even dog friendly pools?
These are great and safe options for giving your pet some exercise and mental stimulation, while avoiding the heat.
Simply walking and sniffing a new fenced yard is a great activity, and larger rentals will allow your dog to run, play and swim!

Joni Mitchell was gone "Just like this train" whenever she got the chance!
We worked very hard on teaching her to come when called and to stay close to the mommas. She and her sister Bonnie Raitt, have been to the beach and the lake where they continue to work on their listening skills.

Puzzle toys will work your dogs brain, and some even work their body as they chase the toy around your house. Using these toys are great options instead of a walk when it's hot out. We LOVE the -Mutt Toys and find they are suitable for most dogs.

Meet Skye! This goofy girl loves laying down between feet, and when she got tired of training, she got extra silly!
Most dogs only have so much time in them for training. This is why your trainer may recommend breaks during classes or lessons. If you notice your dog "goofing off" during training, it's probably because they are tired!

Have you ever gone on an "urban walk" with your dog to beat the heat?
Rather than walk outside on hot pavement, we like taking some dogs on training walks to dog friendly, air conditioned stores!
Practice your leash walking skills, work on ignoring people, and do some sits, downs, and stays!
Remember to always respect the dog friendly stores and their rules.

Instead of a walk, why don't you get wild with some water!
You can have lots of fun with kiddie pools, splash pads, and sprinklers.
Rather than let your dog have all the fun, you can work together to tire them out even more. Work on training skills, or toss treats around to increase the fun!

Meet Elsie!
Elsie likes to do stuff, and Elsie likes to bark (a lot... because sheltie, lol) so she has found our impulse control games very hard.
Why? Because we are teaching her she needs to think before she acts! While she might not have been a fan at first, she has made amazing progress with her impulse control skills during her training! Go Elsie!

Pre-prepping food toys is KEY, especially if you have a puppy, a multidog household, or a higher energy dog. This is how we do it: First, gather all of your food toys and grab a cake pan. The pan catches any drips, and keeps the toys from rolling around. Next, grab ALL your ingredients. This could be meat, cream cheese, yogurt, pumpkin, broth, canned food, peanut butter, chews, kibble, and more. Once you have everything, start filling! Once filled, put the toy in the cake pan. Once you fill the pan, put it in the freezer, and you will have food toys for the days you need them! Do you have a strategy for filling food toys?
