Well goodness me, Diane trotted me up in-hand for the vet to review me today, and I've got the ok to be ridden again just in WALK. Vet said it might help me lose some weight! How rude! Meagre new grass rations again tonight then!

Oh dear I’m in big trouble this time, Diane was seriously cross when she saw my rug tonight, she said she doesn’t need any more mending to do and she is going home to a large glass of wine! 😬

I didn’t mean to vandalise the side of my field shelter, but I had this dreadful itch…. Jade and I had to supervise the repairs but we left when the nail gun came out!

A pamper session for the 4 of us this afternoon with our midweek helpers Jo Usher and Lauren Usher grooming us, detangling our manes and tails and giving us the first hoof oil treatment of the year! And then helping Diane to give us more grass! 💕

All change! Jade and I have moved into Bo’s side of the field to keep Bo company while Harry is away. Initially Bo joined us on our side, but there is MORE GRASS on his side so Diane swapped us over!

I have been quiet on here all winter, nothing exciting has happened to me, I have been having a lovely retirement eating hay and chilling out with Jade. But today aunty Helen and uncle Steve found me in the wrong paddock at breakfast time! I had broken 3 plastic posts but not the electrical tape. Aunty Helen had to put up a temporary tape to keep us out of the area until Diane could mend it this afternoon!!

Uncle Steve captured this great shot of me and Jade today- don’t think we have ever been this warm at the end of October, Jade clipped but no rug yet!
I’m not clipped because I’m RETIRED! Diane says it is a relief not to have to keep me clean for a saddle anymore, but I know she and Gemma miss riding me. 💕

So I have had a whole year of retirement now, it’s not so bad, I still have plenty of attention, especially when I rub my face sore when I get itchy! I have put on a few pounds though, so there’s more of me to cuddle now!

Yes, I can still roll all the way over! Diane shampooed my tail the other day and put conditioner on it, her great niece Lauren has been oiling my hooves, and I have a selection of bug rugs to wear. Yesterday Uncle Matt trimmed my hooves. Today Diane gave us hay in our shelter to keep us out of the sun. It’s not so bad being retired!

We have our warm rugs on and we are ready for the storm tomorrow! Diane let me and Jade in to the last section of our winter grazing yesterday and I think I may have overdone it with the celebratory bucking, bouncing and rearing, as I have a sore hind leg today. Oops. 😬

Lovely Gemma gave me a pamper session yesterday morning and even shampooed the lower section of my tail! Then she helped Diane move our electric fence tape to give us lots more grass! It's not so bad being retired!

New shoes for Jade this week, a trim for me, and Uncle Matt said my hooves are still doing really well without shoes! Then it was wormer paste for all of us today, yukity yuk! The carrots afterwards helped!

Diane took me for a walk today with Helen on Rosie, it was lovely to go round the lanes again. It was colder today and Diane felt sorry for me and put a no-fill turnout rug on me after the walk, apparently I only need a no-fill as I’m not clipped and have plenty of padding of my own!! How rude!!

Diane took me out for a short walk yesterday, with Helen walking Whisper, and I was beautifully behaved - unlike the last time when we went on our own!!

Diane was pushing a wheelbarrow through my paddock today, towards the next section of grazing, so I helped her along by walking behind her and gently pressing my nose into her back!
