Growing up in Southeastern Texas, searching for such wild creatures in the woods behind his house was his daily hobby. Kevin’s fascination has remained steadfast ever since and he has kept countless varieties of reptiles throughout his life. He moved to Fort Collins, Colorado thirteen years ago. The snake’s lure again induced him to breed specialty animals, paying particular attention to one of h

is favorite breeds, the Eastern Hognose. He has since gained industry recognition and is well-reputed as the leading authority in caring for Easterns. Last year Kevin introduced the first of his southern hognoses to the market. His success with producing healthy offspring has not been surpassed by the very few others who would present competition. Kevin is a professional ‘herper’ by all rights. His lifelong fascination with the various species prompted his vigorous study of the reptile kingdom at large, providing him the acumen of a reputable contributor to the herpetology community. He has realized the standing of a qualified expert in the field and gained well-merited respect from industry colleagues.

An interesting color phase from a yellow by red pairing that hatched this year that starts out jet black and develops colors on the black. Can’t say I’ve seen this before. Usually it’s the other way around.

My commitment to you, my customer

I nurture every animal that is born under my care and pride myself on the health and vitality of the animals that I produce. This involves daily individualized attention – a particular necessity to my substituting their native food for more readily available mice – which entails my providing them with immaculate cages and dishes with fresh water.

I only ship healthy animals that are well-started and completely accustomed to eating mice. I do not starve my snakes to save a buck and my snakes will continue to thrive under your continued attentive care.

I cannot emphasize this enough!

Hognoses are sensitive snakes and the stress of shipping may temporarily make your hognose revert to its native preference of toads. For this reason, it is imperative that you have a frozen, native-to-the-U.S. toad or frog at the ready prior to receiving your order so you will be able to scent your frozen/thawed feeder mice. (Please see my Hognose Care Sheet, listed as a tab on left-hand side of my page for detailed instructions.)
