And then there were 2, both going to be wonderful hunters! Orange will be an excellent hunting companion and potential field trial dog. Starting to see teeth poking through the gums…gave them some milk replacer to watch them lap that up…fun to watch but they growing so fast these days! Puppies are 23 days old.

It’s very cool to see Benny’s papa Bull make it into the Kansas Field Trial Hall of Fame! Everyone to celebrate Bull’s spectacular legacy!

Bull was inducted into the Kansas Field Trial Hall of Fame today.
This is a huge honor. To be eligible for the KFTHOF the candidate has to be "a truly seminal dog"... "worthy of the National Field Trial Hall of Fame"....."extensively trialed in Kansas"..."that has won significantly in Kansas". Qualifications are equally weighted on performance/wins, importance of wins, breeding impact on local regional and/or national level, evaluated in accordance with category (All Age, Shooting Dog or Walking Shooting Dog) and impact on that category.
The KFTHOF was established in 2005, inducting dogs over the 50+ years of Kansas clubs, but it has been several years since a dog has met the nomination criteria evaluated by the Election Committee to be one of the top two vote getters and receive 60% of eligible votes to be elected. Bull is the first Continental dog to join.

Ember is out of Luca x Fen 1.0, pretty girl that likes to naturally self stack and fetch a big ole jolly ball meant for the horses, and still watch for critters in the backyard to hunt.

The 2.0 Lucas x Fen pups will be 2 weeks old this weekend in the second photo.

Luca x Fen pups born May 26, 2024; 6 boys and 1 girl. There are a few boys available. They will be great hunters with natural retrieving ability, and be wonderful family additions. Will be great competition/performance dogs in the field competing in field trials. Both dam and sire have excellent temperaments, couldn’t ask for better versatility than what these will be having seen the first litter of these two grow who are 2 years old now. Exciting news from the Symmes that their boy Jimi won Winners Dog today for a 3 point major which makes him a new AKC champion of record! His AKC name will now be CH Falls Pointe Dev’L’s in The Details. We are so happy for him. Thank you Emily and Doug Ansel for such lovely pups with your girl and Benny!

Puppy Ember (Luca x Fen) earned her first ribbon placing 2nd in Amateur puppy at the Old Dominion walking field trial today. She’s improving which 2nd was unexpected as my critical thinking knows she’s got more to work on but she is quickly learning between trials. Thank you to judges Mark Calder and Jim Rowell. Thank you to Elise Wright and the whole committee, gunners, volunteers and participants working to get the first ODVC walking trial planned and completed.

Thanks Jarred for capturing one of Luca's training sessions. And thankful birds were flying really well to watch Luca turn to mark where it went.

Happy to see Benny making excellent progress fetching...nice and consistent with a bumper. Great natural retriever he got from both his momma and daddy (Caiya x Bull). It was hard to video it by myself but one of them times worked out as useable video. Want to transition soon to shooting live birds but will keep in practice this way until then.

Benny’s first collection of 1.6 billion swimmers! Dr Kunze kindly made me a video looking at the microscope. Pretty cool 😎

Video of Luca (Caiya x Wrigs) at Snowbound Kennels winter camp with Alec Sparks. First time letting her run (and dragging the check cord) and listening to his commands to run, turn, called back, whoa to stop, and released to run again. Mixed whistle and verbal commands...she's doing awesome her first time away for training!
