PLEASE DO NOT CALL, TEXT, SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE ETC. BETWEEN 10:00 PM & 10 AM CT. I’m a light sleeper and even a private message from here, sends an alert from my phone. Thanx!
I am not your typical breeder as I really do love my dogs and puppies! They are not just "working dogs" to me, they are my babies! Yes I am doing this to supplement my income but the well-being of my dogs and puppies come first.
All of my dogs as well as my puppies are up to date on all vaccinations. It’s very important when you find a breeder to ask them to show you proof that their adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations as many of them only vaccinate their puppies. If the adults aren’t up to date then the puppies are at risk!
If you would like to contact my veterinarian for reference on me you may call or email El Paso Animal Hospital Derby, KS (316) 788-1561 or (316) 788-1000 and ask for Dr Herod, Dr Oehmke or their Lab Tech Brenda. [email protected] or talk to just about any of their staff members. I have been using the same vets, Dr Herod and/or Dr Oehmke for nearly thirty years. Their website is www.elpasoanimalhospital.com I can also provide reference of previous buyers.
I strongly follow the advice of my veterinarians and their lab tech, Brenda. I buy the dog and puppy foods that they recommend to keep my dogs and puppies strong and healthy. My veterinarian checks my puppies at least twice before leaving my home PLUS I have a full f***l lab done on each puppy before they leave my home to ensure that my puppies are healthy when they go to their new homes.
When you pick up your new puppy, we will meet at my veterinarian’s hospital so that he/she can examine your puppy with you there and you can ask him/her questions about your puppy!
UPDATE: DUE TO COVID-19 WE CAN NO LONGER MEET AT MY VETERINARIAN’S AND THEREFORE MUST MEET AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION THAT IS CONVENIENT FOR EVERYONE.
However if you live too far away and want me to meet you part way, that’s possible or if the puppy is to be shipped via Airlines then of course we won’t meet.
My puppies are all registered with AKC and come with the following:
PAID limited AKC registration
(Limited AKC registration certificate will be provided AFTER proof that the puppy has been spayed or neutered. Buyer will pay to have puppy transferred to buyer’s name.)
PAID lifetime membership to AKC’s Reunite Program
PAID microchip which my vet implants.
PAID up to date vaccinations which my veterinarian administers to each puppy.
PAID two f***l lab test at six and seven weeks old to make sure puppies are free of parasites.
In order to help try to cut down on puppy mills, I no longer sell my puppies with full registration.
When I buy a new puppy to add to my breeders, I look for the best quality puppies I can find even if it means buying a puppy from a breeder even if I have to search in other countries. I study the pedigrees and health reports of their parents to ensure I'm not getting a puppy that is in**ed or carriers of genetic defects and I look for other qualities in the pedigrees and health reports also such as champion bloodlines, good eye and good joint reports and skin diseases such as Ichthyosis. I also ask the breeder about the parents temperaments, health etc. as I want family oriented dogs and puppies and I require photos AND videos of their facilities and their dogs and puppies!
All of my dogs have had complete DNA testing done and ALL of them are cleared of ALL genetic health conditions and are not carriers! It is my desire to breed only HEALTHY, HAPPY QUALITY DOGS, to produce only healthy, happy, quality puppies.
I have a 100% one year health guarantee against genetic diseases and a 7 day guarantee against illnesses such as Parvovirus, Giardia, Puppy Flu etc.
Since there are oodles of genetic diseases which there are not DNA test for all of them, I guarantee for the 170 to 180 that Embark Vet test for only. I have the list of them on my contract.
For your own protection, before you buy any puppy that is not registered with AKC and is only registered with one of the other registries, I suggest you research the other registries and inquire why the puppy is not registered with AKC. A call to AKC (919) 233-9767 might prove to be beneficial to you. You should also ask to see copies of the parent's pedigrees to ensure your puppy is indeed registerable and NOT an in**ed puppy. I use to show dogs in the early 1980's and have known breeders who bred mother to son, daughter to father, brother to sister etc. and called it "Line Breeding" Line breeding is actually skipping two or more generations.
I have two Shiba Inu dogs, one male and one female. When I get ready to breed, I send out ONE email to all on my wait list, BCC and let everyone know that I’m getting ready to breed. Whoever is ready for a puppy should reply to my email and I will start a “litter” wait list for the upcoming litter(s). When the puppies have whelped, I go down my “litter” wait list according to the order everyone is on, on the main waitlist and let everyone know I have new puppies! They may start picking their puppies when the litter is 3 to 4 weeks old. If I don’t have a puppy that you’re desiring, you may pass and wait for the next litter. When it’s your turn to pick, even though you have a certain color and gender on your application, you will be allowed to pick from ALL available puppies or pass and wait for the next litter.
Once you have moved from my “main” wait list to my “litter” wait list, you will not be removed from the litter wait list unless you request to be or have received your puppy. Therefore, once on the “litter” wait list, you will continue to move upwards towards the top and not have to go backwards if someone on the main wait list who WAS ahead of you, decides that they are ready for a puppy.
If you’re on the main wait list and keep declining a puppy as you’re not ready for one, that is fine but once you move to the “litter” wait list, you will not be placed ahead of everyone else who has already moved to the litter list, you will be placed at the bottom.
All of my dogs and puppies are very entertaining and keep me smiling and or laughing just watching them play! They have GREAT temperaments and sweet personalities and love people! My dogs are very loyal and loving! I can't tell enough good things about them! I LOVE THEM DEARLY!!!
I have photos and videos of my adult Shiba's as well as my puppies on my Heart's Desire FB page and I update the photos and or videos of my dogs and puppies frequently and post them so that you can see how the puppies are growing and how the adults are doing! I would be cautious of buying a puppy from a breeder who NEVER or RARELY updates the photos and videos of their adult dogs. Or from pet stores where you will NEVER see the parents and their living environment.
For my puppy prices please contact me by a private message on here.
If you wish to join my wait list, you must fill out a puppy application which you can get from me via private message. I do not charge to be placed on my wait list as I do not feel comfortable taking money for unborn puppies. I tried this at the advice of other breeders but it wasn’t for me.
I do not accept holding deposits for unborn puppies or puppies that have not been checked by my veterinarian. Once my vet has checked my puppies at 3 to 4 weeks old, I will begin to let my buyers on my wait list, pick the puppy their hearts desire and then I will accept a holding deposit PLUS a signed contract. I will not do business without a holding deposit and a signed contract.
If you decide that you don’t want or can’t have the puppy after you have picked it and placed the non refundable deposit on it, I MAY hold your deposit for up to two years and put it towards a future puppy. This is decided upon the conditions and reason why a person backed out. After two years, if you still haven’t picked a puppy, you will have to submit a new deposit.
The balance for each puppy is due when the puppies are six weeks of age unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
I have lost ONLY ONE puppy since I’ve been breeding and that was in Dec 2013. I had two females that had puppies that day and kept them in separate rooms of my house. I was very busy running back and forth checking on the mothers and helping them. They were both new mothers with their first litters. One mother did not get the sack off of the puppy’s head in time and it suffocated.
Shipping Broken Down:
Airline Ticket: Will have to check with airlines.
Health Certificate for Airline: $55
Airline Approved Kennel: $55
Shuttle Service to Airport: $50
If you pick up your puppy, you will not have to pay shipping fees but if you take the puppy across the Kansas state line, you will still have to have a health certificate.
AKC registration is included with the price of your puppy. You may pick the name of your puppy however Heart's Desire reserves the right to have the name "Atarashii" as part of the names of all our puppies. Atarashii is my last name in Japanese, it means New. Therefore, I will register your puppy online for you one week after all of the puppies have gone to their new homes as I register them together as a litter.
FULL payment for the puppy and shipping, is due when the puppies are six weeks of age. Puppies will not be released or shipped until balance and shipping is paid in full. If you're paying by personal check, I will need three weeks for the check to clear before your puppy can be shipped therefore you must pay by the time the puppy is 5 weeks old.
My dogs and puppies are up to date on all vaccinations. My puppies will have their first set of vaccinations between 6 to 7 weeks old. I will provide a note from my veterinarian stating the puppy is in good health before shipping it plus you will also be provided a vaccination record from my veterinarian. All puppies being shipped or leaving the state of Kansas will have a Health Certificate. Puppies remaining inside the state of Kansas are not required to have a health certificate unless being shipped by a professional shipping company. Buyer pays for health certificates.
You have 48 hours (not including Sundays and holidays) upon receipt of your puppy to take your puppy to a license veterinarian and have your puppy thoroughly checked for illnesses such as parvovirus, puppy flu etc. to insure your puppy did not come into contact with anything detrimental to its health and well being between your house and mine. Failure to do so will result in the one year and 7 day health guarantees to become null and void immediately. If you need more time, please don't hesitate to contact me as I find about 1/2 of my buyers do need extra time and that is not a problem for me. You must send me a copy of the wellness form that is located on the last page of the contract, fill out and signed by your veterinarian ONLY, stating the condition he/she found your puppy to be in. You will have ONE WEEK to submit the completed form to me. You may email or mail it to me but I MUST have it no later than one week after you receive your puppy into your care otherwise the health guarantees becomes null and void immediately.
Once your puppy leaves my care, I have no control of its well being. Therefore, if your puppy becomes injured during shipping, you must take the matter up with the Airlines. However, I've never had a health or injury problem in the shipping of any of my puppies.
All of my puppies are born inside my house where I can keep a close eye on my mama's while they're in labor. (See Photo Album of Puppies Living Quarters).
We attempt to train all of our puppies to use potty pads and to sleep in kennels. However, sometimes it is difficult to train several puppies at the same time so but we do our best. The puppy room is cleaned various times of the day to keep the smell down and provide the puppies with a clean and sanitized environment. I often take photos and or videos of the puppies playing in their room so that you can watch them grow and will be able to see how their environment is kept. However, it seems that once the puppies reach 6 weeks of age, they become little tyrants and LOVE to shred potty pads and sometimes I have spent two hours in the puppy room with them, cleaning as they shred the pads as soon as I put them down. Therefore, once they are six weeks old, I take less photos and video’s at least once a week!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by private message on here or text (316) 217-7673 NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.
Take care and God bless
