Mānawatia a Matariki!
Matariki is a special occasion in the Aotearoa/New Zealand calendar which marks the start of the Māori New Year. Celebrated by Māori for centuries, this year is only the second year that it has been a public holiday.
The timing of Matariki is different each year and is signified by the Matariki (Pleiades) cluster of stars reappearing in our night sky, this is a time to reflect on the past year, celebrate the present, and plan for the year ahead.
