On July 27, 2010 an email brought the impending deaths of multiple dogs to my attention. Through a flurry of emails, phone calls, text messages, facebook postings, and random intervention - I was able to put together a dream team and save 3 wonderful dogs. My friend HR had picked one (B&W), I had picked one (Brindle), and at the very last minute I picked a second one (brown). I saw her face, and e
ven though I knew I couldn't keep her I knew I couldn't leave her behind. They were pulled from the ex*****on line at a rural Georgia shelter the morning of 7/28, by a kind stranger I've never met but spoke to on the phone. They made their way from that car, to my friend JC's in Atlanta, where they stayed a few hours. (I haven't seen JC since 1988ish). My friend SFR (who I hadn't seen since 1981) picked them up from Atlanta that day and transported them up to Aiken, SC where they all spent the night. The next morning SFR loaded the 3 pups in her car and headed north toward my friend HR and I. We met up at a rest stop in NC. From there, HR and I took the 3 pups to VA. By the time we got here, all 3 little girls had been named - Piglet (B&W), Guinness (Brindle), and Peanut (brown). Peanut stayed with a foster mother who couldn't keep her (having 2 dogs and a cat of her own) and is now in a kennel but thriving and still hoping for that forever home!
* I'd love for Peanut to have the same loving life as me ... so, please pass this along to anyone who may be interested in this sweet loving little girl! *
