Ordered this for my Camponotus queen. Anyone here have any opinions on products from The Ant Shack?
Hey Ant Keeping Depot, Got my Camponotus aeneopilosus nearly a week ago and the queen has laid another 3 or 4 eggs on top of the 3 she came with and I'm pretty stoked! So glad my Gold Cloaks have settled in so well into their new nest. Have also had the of witnessing her moving in nest to regulate her ideal temperature from the heat provided by the heating cord and how hot my pc can make the room with the door closed. Exciting times starting up in ant keeping!

Got this colony in today of a Queen and 9 workers from the good people of antkeepingdepot.com, along with Aus Ants Acrylic Starter Kit, feeders and nectar.
Within an hour of connecting test tube to new nest, they've already moved in! Queen was reluctant, got to witness an amazed seen of worker grabbing her by mandible and drag her in(sadly didn't get photo of). No name yet for queen herself.
My daughters are in love with this colony, eager to see them grow in numbers, but for now, I've given them a spot of nectar to feed off and are hiding away somewhere warm, with my 2 recently catch pheidole queen.

Hi. Anyone know what foraging areas are compatible with the "Aeacus Macedon Resin Nest Medium" resin nest. I bought one and realised the connector tubing provided with the nest doesn't match with the hole for the foraging area. any compatible units? Or else any endpoint products to enable joining the nest provided connector to foraging area?
Hi, i recently bought the beginners kit and so far so good. The ants have moved into the nest that came with the kit. But i have never seen the two workers that came with my purchase (1 unfortunately died in transit) leave the nest. I keep the setup away from any direct sunlight and leave a plate of the protein jelly near the entrance and sugar water in the liquid dispenser near the entrance hole in the formicarium. Should i be worried?
