LOWCOUNTRY PAWS UNITE: BERKELEY, CHARLESTON, AND DORCHESTER SHELTERS ARE SEVERELY OVERCAPACITATED
The primary Tri-County lifesaving shelters are in crisis. This emergency situation can only be alleviated through adoptions now
Summer temperatures have hit, and Lowcountry animal shelters are facing a critical overcrowding crisis. Dogs and kittens are filling every available kennel. Charleston Animal Society, Berkeley Animal Center, and Dorchester Paws are joining forces to launch their second annual lifesaving adoption event, Lowcountry Paws Unite, offering great adoption deals on all animals now through Sunday.
Across the three shelters more than 2,200 animals are in their systems of care.
"Since May these three shelters have taken in thousands of animals in need," said Charleston Animal Society Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Aldwin Roman. "Now we need the community's help to come save them." This emergency situation can only be alleviated through adoptions now.
Lowcountry Paws Unite will run from Wednesday through Sunday across three major shelters in the Lowcountry. Check for hours of operation on these participating shelters' websites:
