🌟RAM TEASER SURGERY🌟

We will be carrying out Ram teaser surgeries over the next few weeks if you would like one done.

💪A big help with AI and ET work 💪
We highly recommend the use of at least one Teaser ram on all advanced breeding farms.

After surgery we suggest a rest period of around 4 to 6 weeks before use, so get them done ASAP.

Kieran was busy on Friday making a handful of Dutch spotted teasers for Craigdoo so if you need one don’t be afraid to shout. 🐑 🐑 🐑

OPA/Jaagsiekte- A contagious virus causing lung cancer in sheep!?

Jaagsiekte Sheep Retrovirus is present in many flocks across the country and can cause many issues including ill thrift, respiratory signs and death.

OPA is considered an ‘iceberg disease’ meaning that those showing clinical signs are most likely only the tip of the iceberg within the flock.

Please contact our vet Kieran Mulvenna to book lung scanning to manage the problem in your flock.

⭐️Faecal eggs counts (FEC)⭐️

With the warmer weather 🤷‍♂️ we are having more reports of lambs scouring and generalised ill thrift , potentially due to worms and/or coccidiosis.

Identifying the exact problem is essential!

Using our specialised faecal egg counting kit (shown below), we can confirm the parasite type, for example coccidiosis, nematodirus or summer worms. This allows us to recommend correct dosing strategies. 💪

Farmer group collections can also be discussed 🙌

💥 Lambing product alert 💥

We have been busy with semen freezing, lung scanning and winter flushing this last few weeks 😅

On our farm side, Craigdoo Livestock, we have finished lambing our suffolk batch and started into the spottie lambing! 😳🤪

Of course problems are never far away and having both the vet and farm side gives a special insight into all aspects of shepherding!

So any client looking to speak about products and management that may benefit your individual farm give us a shout! 😎🤩

With the flushing Season finally finished up we are now concentrating on Semen Freezing
