When I say I don't know everything about dog nutrition, I'm not being humble. I learn new things all the time.

I was TODAY years old when I learned that dogs can have oranges. I thought citrus wasn't okay to feed to dogs. But when I think about it, I've seen people feed their pineapple to dogs to address stool eating.

Citrus is a great source of Vitamin C, and the "meat" of the fruit is safe for dogs to eat. However, some dogs don't like the tartness of citrus fruit. I've never tried it, so this summer, my dogs will be trying oranges, tangerines, pineapple, and maybe lemons and limes.

Of course, I'll remove the peels and seeds first.

DON'T FORGET TO WASH YOUR DOG'S BOWLS!!!! 🐾

A pet's mouth has good and bad bacteria in it that binds to water and sticks to the side of the bowl, creating a slimy biofilm. When pets drink/eat from excessively dirty bowls, they risk getting UTIs, middle ear infections, and dental plaque formation. 🐶

Wan't something fun to do with your dog? Create an artistic memory with stretched canvas or canvas board and acrylic paint. The first on is of my dogs Nyla, BB, and Iris on black stretched canvas in neutrals, then sealed. A cherished memory as BB and Iris passed! For the other 3, I recently adapted the paws into flowers for my brother's friend. Added watercolor and speckled backgrounds before sealing with matte Krylon. Take a dollar store tablecloth or painters plastic to pour and brush out your paint upon, have extra plastic underneath the paint cloth and canvas, lead dog through the paint with treats, continue to lead your dog onto the canvas in various directions depending on your final goal. Add other colors to different tablecloths or plastic as desired! Let dry, seal, add embellishments such as word decals, charms, a dog tag, etc if you choose. Wash paws in an old pool, bucket, or bathtub and rinse! Praise and treat your 4 legged artist as you go and when you finish!

3 ingredient Frozen Blueberry Banana Pops
🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐🍌🫐

¾ cup blueberries
¾ cup PLAIN greek yogurt low fat preferably
½ banana, ripe

Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Blend until fully incorporated, about 90 seconds.

Pour into molds or ice cube trays
Freeze until solid, about 5 hours.

HEADS UP...its Corn on the Cob season! They can be DEADLY to dogs if they swallow them,,,, even just a piece of a cob .... can cause blockages.... BE SURE to throw them away correctly so dogs do NOT get them... thanks

This is the second dog in the last two weeks that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.

Please do NOT buy this type of bone for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this patient, our technician was able to wiggle it free but our previous patient was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides of the bone safely.
Both dogs are lucky that they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.

Remember this holiday season, rawhides are not safe treats for dogs. Many are colored with dangerous dyes and rawhide is not easily digested. They can cause serious blockages, requiring medical intervention.

Tom knows that dogs are like children, he knows that buying pets is immoral because it promotes animal cruelty through forced breeding and inbreeding.

He is often seen going to rescues to provide assistance, visiting rescued dogs and talking about breeding and abandonment issues in various media.

Tom is a great guy with a big heart.
