CHINESE ARE HERE! Welcome spring!
The Chinese Mantis (Tenodera sinensis) is naturalized in most of the US, where they have been widely distributed as a means of natural pest control.

But, in addition to natural pest control, their value as a beloved pet cannot be overlooked! The level of personality and intelligence displayed by the Chinese mantis is fairly advanced compared to other mantids, and they have won over many hearts indoors as well as in the garden. They are also great for beginners to the mantis hobby, because they are a tough and forgiving species. They are also fairly inexpensive, compared to the more rare and exotic species in the market!

FINALLY! Our first Orchid hatch of the summer!
Only a small percentage of this hatch will be offered for sale, as we must start collecting our next generation of breeders, but don't worry, there will be more to come! We have several more ooths in incubation, so get ready for more in the future!

Even after breeding these guys for so long, and seeing many hatches over the years, I still find the hatching process incredibly fascinating!

We are excited to announce that we have finally been able to start our Robertus Dart Frog breeding project, and WE HAVE EGGs!
We have always planned to expand our business to other small terrarium pets besides mantises, but now it looks like we finally can! Unfortunately, dart frog growth cycles are much slower than mantis growth cycles, so these guys won't be for sale for 6 months to a year, as we are just starting the breeding cycle here.
But in the meantime...

While I am here, I also wanted to let you know something important:
TUESDAY DECEMBER 21 2020 WILL BE OUR LAST SHIPPING DAY UNTIL THE NEW YEAR!
So please plan accordingly, and make sure you get your orders in before Monday 12/20 at NOON Eastern! Any orders placed after this time will begin shipping on Monday, January 3rd.
With next week being the week of Christmas, the risk of unexpected postal delays increases significantly, compared to a typical shipping week. Therefore, we ask that you be patient and understanding for the sake of your pets. We don't want anything to happen to your new pets in the mail before they even make it safely to their new homes (and we are sure you don't want anything to happen to them either 😉)!
As per our shipping policy (https://www.panterrapets.com/pages/shipping-and-policies), we will probably not get to all of the orders in the queue in one day, so expect that there is a high likelihood that any orders placed during the week of 1/3/2021 may not ship until the following week (1/11/2021 - 1/15/2021), as we will be catching up from the holiday during the week of January 3rd.
All orders will be shipped on a first come, first-served basis, with the exception of orders containing feeders only, which will take priority over everything else! Afterall, we don't want anyone's pets to starve, now do we? 😉
