Nikko

Nikko Nikko was a member of our family for 18 years. He's in heaven now happy and helthy keeping the Madresita's company. We miss him terribly!

In 1997 I adopted Nikko as a single gal. I pampered him for 2 years as my little lap dog. Then in 1998, I started dating my husband...it became too much responsibility for me and so I neglected him. One day My Tia Lupe jokingly said "regalame me lo"...I jumped at the chance to hand him over thinking he'd have a better life. Time passed, and Carlos & I married in 2002. I always felt guilty for givi

ng up Nikko. So, in 2003, my aunt had to down size her home and the amount of pets she was allowed to keep. (She had up 9 pets by then.) My mom said to me...."Elsa, lla es hora de que vallas por el pobre Nikko y haste responsable." I brought him home without consulting my husband. He was furious, but it took only 3 days for my husband to grow fond on Nikko. Nikko became our first family companion. He survived two toddler's, 2 dog bites, a raccoon attack and grew to be a sweat old dog. He wasn't good with kids, stranger's or other dogs. ..but he was always handsome and knew his limits. He gave us the space to be parents, and knew his turn would always come at the end of the niåght when the kids went to sleep. Nikko grew to be old with us and died at the age of 18 in 2016. This page is dedicated in memory of Nikko. A year later, we miss still mourn his passing. ...but we are greatefull for all the memories!
