This will be the last post on this page. Thank you for all your support, I truly appreciate it. Spirit Pieces Unique Memorial Art did an awesome job with the "Rastus rocks". I carry one in my pocket daily. The artist who made them even sent a personal note to let us know where she would release the excess ashes. The remainder will be mixed with mine when I pass. I can't wait to see him again! Love and take care of each other........

Our puppies come to us when we need them. They teach selfless giving and unconditional love. They give us joy and laughter while teaching us forgiveness and patience.

Once they have taught us all they can, and they then know we are ready, they let us go.

Dogs lives are short, we know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog. So live fully in the moment. Never fail to share the joy or delight in their innocence. You can't support the illusion that a dog is going to be your lifelong companion. There is such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while knowing it comes at an unbearable price.

Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil, jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog in the beautiful countryside is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing wasn't boring - it was peace........

This is my favorite pic of Rastus. He served us like no other soul could or will and we did our best to serve him. I spent 8 years on the road and never worried about my wife's safety because of this guy. He was nothing but sweet when I was home and on guard when I left. I've had a lot less travel the past two years and find it ironic that God took him today, because I'm traveling for work this week. Rastus was fine when I left Sunday and went down hard and fast. I truly believe he did not want me to see him in a weak state because he's always been the protector when I'm gone and would relax and play when I'm home. I could write forever about my friend, but I need to reflect and rejoice in the memory of the best buddy I've ever had!
Rastus will be cremated and we have found a business in KC that does some unique things with glass and our friends ashes. Once this process is complete I will post the final memorials to Rastus and that will be the last post on this page.

Rastus passed away peacefully @ 5:05 pm today. He will forever be in our hearts.

I'm Robert, Rastus's dad. It's with a heavy heart, I want to let everyone know over the past two months Rastus has had rapid growths in his jowls and noticed one in his hind leg last night. We all know what it is. He has been doing silly things he's never done before. Like the potatoes and recently stealing raw eggs out of the basket we collect them in.😂😂 At this point he is still 100% himself. He is just sleeping and eating a lot more than in the past. I know a lot of you have followed him on FB for a long time. So, together, with you we are going to ride this journey out together. I can't tell how much this guy has been by my side through all the triumphs and pitfalls of the past 10 years. It's said often and I believe dogs are the greatest gift God gave humans. I'll update as we travel our path to sunset. If Rastus could talk, he'd just tell us to love and take care of each other!!!

Rastus has claimed 2 potatoes. I took them away, placed on window sill to remind me to cook them for him. Went to get both potatoes and he had moved them to his bed...;/

Hello everybody. Merry Christmas and wishing you the best in the new year. I'm completely healed!!!! No cone, no medication. I'm back to chasing squirrels, running freely around my yard and enjoying getting back to my normal life. Love you and thank you for helping me get through this!!

I'm doing awesome!!! Head is healed, front leg almost complete, rear leg maybe an inch. Mom is still making me wear my cone at night just to be safe. I'll be back to chasing squirrels in no time! Thank you to everyone for the well wishes and prayers! I made it thanks to you and mom....
