There are 4 kittens at the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services who are needing a foster asap. They are showing symptoms of upper respiratory stuff. We can get the meds to get them well. We just need fosters!!

This sweet girl is Peppa. She was adopted from us a few months ago and has a good life with her human mama. She was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will need surgery to remove it. The cost of $2000 for this is beyond her finances and we offered to post a fundraiser specifically for her. We want to shout out a huge thank you to United Market Street and their representative Ms. Julie for donating a $350- gift card so we could shop for food, litter, and treats. We shopped for some much needed food, and the puppas scored some treats as well! Thank you again Market Street.

Santa had so much fun this past Saturday at Petco with all the cats and dog, that magically he has time to do a few more sessions! Come on down and see the Big Man this Saturday 9 Dec from 12-4pm, and then on Sunday 17 Dec also from 12-4pm. Cost $10

Don't forget to come bowl or visit us at Village Bowl at 7 pm. We do have a couple of lanes still open if you want to bowl. Need Christmas presents??? We can definitely set you up with lots of ideas and gifts to bid on. We have some great door prizes as well. I know some people are not able to bowl but you can still come out for a visit and bid. This is one of my most favorite fundraisers and it helps so much with our vetting bills. We average at least $4,000.00 a month on vet bills. This year alone, we have pulled 208 cats only out of 238 going to rescue from just the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services!! It does not include ones we have pulled from Iowa Park, Burkburnett, owner surrenders or strays. We are getting close to having saved 300 cats this year. We are a fully volunteer/foster based rescue. We have only been able to do this because people stepped up to foster, adopt and support ELR. This is one way to support our mission of saving displaced animals in our community.

Come out tonight to Village Bowl from 7-9pm for Emily’s Legacy annual Pins for Perfect Pets Bowling event and silent auction. We have multiple teams playing, to include our local Special Olympics team the Wichita Falls Blue Jays. There is a silent auction, and team t-shirt contest. You don’t even have to bowl, come and check out the 40+ baskets in the silent auction. We have something for everyone, wine basket, hot chocolate basket, mini bar in a jar, several spa and fizzy baskets, grilling opportunities, and some incredible pet baskets. Every single dollar raised goes to our vetting needs. Our vet bill for 2023 was $54,000-, so help us raise some much needed funds!

Missed Scrappy Doo!! He was the one found as a tiny kitten cold in a ditch. He had a broken leg. It is healed all up and boy is he a talker. LOL.

Light a Candle for the Paw Prints on our Hearts
Emily's Legacy Rescue remembers dog and cats that we have lost. We have candles and names for each of your pets that you would like to honor, and place them around our holiday tree.

We will publish the lighting of the candles and reading of each name on Facebook Live. You are also welcome to join us there to light your candles.

Where: Emily’s Legacy Puperosa
When: Friday, 15 December at 7pm
All proceeds will be used in honor of our lost and living friends to help other animals in need.

Hi everyone, come out to Petco tomorrow, Dec 2, 12 until 4 and see all of our adoptable fur babies and get pictures made with Santa in the adoption room. This is little Scrappy Doo, 4.5 months old, very playful and has a habit of sucking on his tail, LOL. Yes, he does that. Scrappy Doo is fully vetted so you would not need to get any vetting done. Then we have little Cordurory and Cashmere (brother and sister), 3.5 months old. These 2 are super sweet, loving and love to play. Also, little Whisper. She is 2.5 months old, very sweet and playful. She is like a tiny little fluff ball. These babies are all ready for their new forever home/family. Come on to Petco tomorrow and hopefully adopt your new fur baby.

I am still needing fosters for 4 of these kittens. The orange and torti have fosters. There are 4 black ones and two tabbies.

These 3 boys, Garfield, Heathcliff and Tanner, are still looking for their forever home/family to take them home. These boys are 7 to 8 months old, fully vetted (from testing/deworm/microchip/all vaccines and have been neutered). They may be a bit shy at first but they will warm up to their new people/person. If you would like to meet these boys, please let us know. They will also be at Petco, Saturday, December 2...with SANTA and a LOT Of other kitty's.

On 3 December we are having our annual Pins for Perfect Pets fundraiser at the Village Bowl from 7-9pm. Grab some friends and make a team of 2 or more. There will be a team t-shirt contest and silent auction baskets. Some of the baskets include pet baskets, wine basket, mini bar in a jar, British tea basket, and several spa and fizzy baskets. Help us fill upto 16 lanes and bowl to raise funs for homeless animals.

Today has been Giving Tuesday where non-profits globally raise funds to help with expenses. This year, we have spent almost $54,000.00 in vetting bills. We have pulled 208 cats from the City of Wichita Falls Animal Services alone which does not include the ones from Iowa Park, Burkburnett or strays we have taken in. We have taken in a total of 280 cats alone this year. We have saved in nine years approximately 2700 displaced animals in our community. We are a fully volunteer/foster based rescue where no one receives a salary. Funds are greatly needed to help with our mission of keeping the animals in our care healthy and happy.

This year, we have had our cat and dog food donations way down as well and have had to buy food. The big food drive that Waterhole did for us this year was amazing!! We are grateful for those who donated to make it a success. We do have drop off boxes at several businesses who are taking donations of food, treats, litter and toys for our animals. We are so appreciative of those who have asked to be a drop off point and those who have participated.

We want to thank all those who foster, volunteer, adopt and donate, we could not save lives without your help. Please consider making a donation of any amount. It is greatly appreciated!!

On November 28th, Emily’s Legacy is participating in , a world-wide day of giving. So far this year, we have rescued and rehomed more than 199 cats and 39 dogs from just the City alone. We have taken in over 100 stray, abandoned, or abused animals locally from your neighborhoods! We also save animals that may be euthanized by other agencies, and find them loving fur-ever homes. Once tossed aside, these babies are our Freedom Rides.

Everyone knows about all the wonderful things Toys-for-Tots have done for our community & so many others across the U.S. as they collect toys for underprivileged children every Christmas! This Holiday Season the American Legion Riders have placed a Toys-for-Tots donation box here to allow us to help brighten the mornings of our local children in need of a little extra Holiday cheer with unwrapped toy donations!

We are also beyond excited to help this AMAZING local animal rescue that you may not have heard of! Emily's Legacy Rescue is a local rescue program completely run by volunteers! Founded in 2014, they rescue stray cats & dogs, animals rescued from hoarding & abuse, & animals that would be otherwise euthanized by local agencies.

Emily's Rescue serves all of Wichita Co and proudly works with the City of WF, the Humane Society, Iowa Park, and Burkburnett animal control. Cats & Dogs can be adopted each week at Petco!

Emily's Rescue have volunteer cat & dog foster homes and in the first 3 qtrs of this year they placed 199 cats & 39 dogs to their forever homes in the City of Wichita alone! They also rescued over 100 strays abandoned at Lucy Park and along the Red River banks.

Emily's Rescue typically spends between $3,000-$4,000 on monthly VET bills which are paid by private donations, Texoma Gives, & other generous local businesses & groups. They also run a program called the Tulip Fund to assist low income/elderly with vetting & food bills.

2024 will bring their 10th YEAR to serve our community! Help us help the sweet furbabies in NEED with a donation of any pet food, bedding, toys, heating pads, crates, etc!
