To the person that dumped their cat in my yard today she did not make it. I know she was dropped off because she could barely use her back legs and one of them had a brown bandage on it. She was a sweet black and white kitty. She had a spay scar, no microchip. She tested negative for both feline aids and feline leukemia. Her bandaged leg was hard and dead from the knee down and gangrene had set in around the thigh. I tried to save her, she was just to weak. I told her she was loved and that I would be with her. She had pain medication and warmth in her final hour.
She passed away during surgery when I was trying to remove her gangrenous leg. .

It’s that time of year and we are once again facing the potential of winter weather. In the event of snow or ice, we may need to close depending on road conditions and the safety of our staff. If you have a scheduled appointment during or shortly after a winter weather event, please call us before leaving home to confirm we are open.

While we will make every effort to notify clients of any closures, please understand that there may be times when we are unable to do so.If you have any questions or concerns regarding upcoming appointments and the possiblity of weather-related closures, feel free to call or text us.

Avian Flu has been around for a couple of years but we are seeing an increase in feline cases in the states. It is important to avoid feeding raw poultry or raw milk. There is not a vaccine at this time. I have posted recommendations for duck hunters below.

Tonight we had our annual Christmas party. Thank you to our wonderful boss for always going above and beyond for us. We are so thankful for you and everything you do for us! We all had the best time!!

P.S. If we are moving a little slow tomorrow, just know some of us like to think we are younger than we really are!

Hello all, we will be closing early on Thursday December 19th for our employee Christmas party. We will be closing at 2:30, and we will reopen for our normal business hours on Friday, December 20th. Please remember our holiday hours are coming up next week, if you need any medications or food, please try to pick them up before we are closed.

Holiday hours:
Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic will close on Wednesday at 12 pm and re open Monday morning at 7:30am.
Allied Animal ER will be open to take any emergencies during the Holiday. Their hours are:

Saturday 7 am - 11 pm

Boss’s Day falls right in the middle of our Staff Appreciation Week (Veterinary Technician Week). If not for our wonderful boss we would not have the great staff that we do! Harrisburg Veterinary Clinic is so very thankful for the hard work these ladies put in day in and day out. BIG Thank You to Dr. Laws for putting up with our shenanigans and always taking care of your staff!
