HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAVOC!!! The newest and youngest member of the pack is 5 years old today! This is his first birthday with us so he really doesn't know what that means yet. He will get his birthday burger this evening so I am pretty sure he will figure out it's a pretty special day!

Being the oldest (and probably wisest) of the pack Whiskey knows how to get what he wants. Rest his head on dad's knee and give him the please face and gets his ears rubbed. Retreat towards the bed while giving the sad eyes and he got dad to come give him ear massages on his favorite bed.

Update from Whiskey's cardiology appointment:
The good news: echocardiogram looked great with no change detected in the rate or sound of the murmur. A minimal change (1mm or less) was measured in his left ventricle but for a year's time in a 10 year old this is not cause for concern.
The unexpected: After testing was complete and the doctor was going over results with us Whiskey had a seizure. It was the first time (that we know of) that he has ever had a seizure, and it was extremely mild and short. He only had a little head tic and lost control of his back legs, but stayed awake and slid down into an awkward sit but did not fall. The doctor feels like this was stress induced. In the past we have pre-medicated with trazadone but that didn't seem to help so this time we tried Xanax but that didn't seem to overcome his anxiety either as he was heavy panting from the minute we pulled into the parking lot and he realized where we were. The doctor did give us a dose of a nasal spray medication to keep in case of emergency if he has another one and doesn't snap right out of it like he did with this one. I waited until this evening to post about it so I could see how he did overnight and today. He was very tired after the appointment yesterday but that was totally expected and he seemed to be completely back to normal today. So we will just be trying a different pre-medication with him for his next vet visit.

Today is Whiskey's annual checkup with his cardiologist and Rebel is along for moral support because vets are scary sometimes.

Havoc met our friends at Independence Veterinary Hospital today. Check-up was great, only issue is hookworms but that is not all that unusual for greys just coming off the track- nothing we haven't dealt with before. Because he was so good during his vet visit we continued his adventure by going to petsmart. Havoc REALLY wanted to adopt a pet parakeet but he settled for a stuffed squeaky bird toy and a harness. Sorry dude- no parakeet for you! After that he learned about our post-vet chic-fil-A tradition. He quickly decided that grilled nuggets are little bites of heaven 😇 Finally we went back to Auntie Carroll's where young Apollo was happy to have him back.

Well here he is everyone- meet Havoc! (Flying Havoc) He is a happy boy who loves attention and is not the least bit shy. He will be hanging out with Auntie Carroll and her pack for a little while. Just a couple more weeks until our new house is ready and we can all be together under one roof, just in time for Christmas!
