A different 4 legged friend treated with laser today.

Grubby Goat has damaged her knee, vet isn't sure exactly, possibly a fracture or cartilage damage to the knee. We're going to try laser to see if it will help heal everything and reduce the pain. Fingers crossed she starts to put the limb down soon.

Always interesting to see TPLO x-rays and the healing process which has occurred 6 weeks later. TPLO is one of the most common ways to repair a ruptured cruciate in dogs.

Physiotherapy can help the healing process and increase the muscle which is lost before and after the surgery. It is a great pain relief, especially after surgery and in the recovery process.

I can talk forever about ruptured cruciates and the studies which support physiotherapy to help rehab pre and post cruciate surgery. So get in touch for more info or contact your local canine physiotherapist for more help.

Pictures 1 & 3 are post surgery. 2 & 4 are 6 weeks post op

Early morning session for this little guy.
He hurt himself last year, but nothing showed up on x-rays. The only sign he showed that he wasn't right, was reluctance to go up the stairs and getting up on the sofa.
His owners wanted to try physio to see if it would help him out a bit more. After a few physio sessions his back to his cheeky self and now has physio every couple of months to make sure he doesn't hurt himself again.

Therapeutic ultrasound session on a lovely mare who managed to 'over stretch' her extensor tendon.

The vet scanned her leg, back in November with a diagnosis of mass fibre disruption in the tendon. Fast forward a couple of months of therapeutic ultrasound and laser therapy twice a week and her scan is now showing minimal fibre disruption.

Happy Christmas everyone!

I have now finished for the year and what a wonderful year it has been seeing both new and old clients.

I look forward to meeting many new faces next year and having cuddles with my usual lovely bunch of clients.

If you need an appointment for the new year, you are already on my list, but send me a quick message beginning of January just in case the champagne goes to my head over the next 10 days.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas. See you in January 2023

Xx
