If you have contacted the Outbound team, chances are you know Chelsea. She is @fortworthacc’s Outbound Coordinator, ensuring shelter animals are placed with fosters and rescue partners, and provided with the appropriate supplies to succeed.
Chelsea is also instrumental in the success of the shelter’s Out and About program, giving animals time outside of the shelter to help build their social skills and improve adoption chances. Thanks to her dedication, these animals experience a better quality of life while waiting for their forever homes.
Spending a lot of time at the shelter, Chelsea knows firsthand that the most immediate needs are items like leashes, collars, @kongcompany and treats, which make a big difference in keeping the animals comfortable and cared for. With the support of our generous donors, these essentials are provided, helping the shelter meet the daily needs of the animals.
Chelsea’s co-host for this episode is Mr. Wiggles. His name says it all and while he might move through the world differently, he’s still sweet as pie and ready to wiggle his way into the hearts of his forever family! We’re happy to share that Mr. Wiggles was pulled by a rescue and getting the proper medical attention needed and lots of love!

Cowtown Cares: Meet Anastasia and Jinxy
As we approach North Texas Giving Day, we’d like to leave you with our final episode of Cowtown Cares. Meet Anastasia, the Superintendent of the Chuck and Brenda Silcox location at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC). She plays an important role in overseeing shelter operations, from managing staff and animals to implementing new protocols that improve the care provided to every pet.
Anastasia knows firsthand how powerful enrichment items like Kongs, snuffle mats, and Benebones can be for the dogs—keeping them engaged and mentally active instead of just waiting for attention by passersby. Thanks to the generous donors of Cowtown Friends, these items are readily available, helping to improve the animals' daily lives.
Anastasia also highlights the recent upgrade of the shelter’s multiuse space, where animals can play, volunteers can take photos, and adopters can meet pets in a quiet, comfortable environment—made possible through the support of last year’s North Texas Giving Day donations.
In this episode, we also meet Jinxy! She’s a sweet and sassy kitty who was waiting to be picked up by her forever family during Anastasia’s interview. We’re so excited for her new beginning!

Cowtown Cares: Meet Katie and Boo
Katie, one of Fort Worth Animal Care & Control’s (FWACC) dedicated fosters and volunteers, is committed to giving dogs the best chance at a new life. Whether she’s helping them get adopted locally or ensuring they have a safe space to relax before heading to out-of-state rescues, Katie’s impact is felt throughout the shelter.
When Katie volunteers at the shelter, she makes sure the dogs receive plenty of love and playtime. As a foster, she appreciates how easy it is to access the supplies she needs, no matter the situation—thanks to the continued support from Cowtown Friends donations.
We also had the honor of meeting Boo! Before Katie’s interview, Boo had been at the shelter since July. Katie fell in love with her kind spirit that she decided to bring her home to foster.
This North Texas Giving Day, your donations will continue to supply the shelter with necessities for fosters, volunteers and animals to thrive. Click the link in below to donate and make a real difference in their lives!

Cowtown Cares: Meet Melanie and Benjamin Button
Meet Melanie, Outbound Supervisor at Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC). She ensures her team has the tools they need to successfully transfer animals to fosters and rescues.
Melanie recognizes the positive impact that enrichment items have on the animals during their time at the shelter and is grateful for the support of Cowtown Friends’ donors, who help meet immediate needs and keep the foster closet stocked. Thanks to the many resources provided, she’s seen a rise in foster participation, making fostering more accessible and helping more animals find loving homes.
Benjamin Button joined Melanie during her interview! He looks like an old soul but he’s actually a puppy, hence the name Benjamin Button. He was found as a stray and covered in fleas. He has since made his way to the PetSmart adoption center where he quickly found his forever home!
Animals like Benjamin Button are counting on your support this North Texas Giving Day.
