Caine Van Het Kalinago. Narcotic, Firearm and Currency Detection Dog.
Method to the madness. Every exercise requires a progression plan. Here you can see how our progression plan utilise the different drive states to help in teaching the dog what we want. We aim to achieve the objective using the minimum amount of help and corrections. For us to do this we teach the dog the picture first for the ball ( low drive state), then for the bite pillow (slightly increased drive state), then for the leg sleeve without the decoy (increased drive state from the pillow) and finally the leg sleeves on the decoy). If we try to teach in the highest drive state then we will be unfair to the dog. We would be required to use much positive punishment ( corrections). All of our foundation work is aimed at preparing the dog to understand a language that we use to teach every exercise. Whether it's IPO, Ring, Pet training or Law Enforcement, the concept behind the foundation work remains the same. Create a language that allows you to communicate with the dog.
Looks, Drive, Grip and Trainability. The hallmark of a successful breeding. Eric is another Kalinago Gem in the making. We are consistently producing this type of dog and just a scroll through our page will show evidence of this.
