Hello!
We didn't get blown away or swept away!
Here's proof of walks this week!
Derek chose to spend his big birthday with us on Monday... yey! He wore his big 50 birthday badge. P*e in the Park festival. What a riot. The dogs seemed to go all Swiftie on him 😂Maisie loved him so much that she spent the whole walk kissing his ankles. "Maisie. Thanks Maisie. Maisie, get off! Maisie I don't want licked!" Trying not to trip over her! So funny! And the rest of them were mesmerized 😍
We had a very busy day on Tuesday. Gayle joined us on Wednesday with lovely Scout and today we saw a bit of sunshine and there's plenty of replenished water in the streams and ponds for washing mucky paws. That's my happy spin on the yucky weather so far ! Xx

Retirement announcement:
It is with much sadness but complete understanding, for his own comfort and wellbeing, that I have accepted that our Ralph needs to take an early retirement from the Walkidoggi clan.
As a retired Walkidoggi - not unlike presidents - once a walkidoggi, always a walkidoggi.
This is him on his final walk with us a few weeks ago. He never seemed any different to us, always keeping up and enjoying himself but after an extensive time away, following operations on both of his legs, in quick succession, he was simply exhausted afterwards, for days. He always loved the van and meeting his pals and leading the way. Ralph knew we had a job to do and if we halted for too long, to chat or play, he'd manage to let us know of his displeasure.
He is such a happy soul and we love him so much and will miss him. But he is considering my offer for keep-in- touch days where he can come to the house for an hour or so to hang out with daycare.
So it's not goodbye Ralph, just a wee paws! See you soon x

Don't tell me that dogs don't get as fed up as we do when the weather is grim in mid August and don't tell me they don't laugh and skip around when it's glorious. Yesterday we met a failed guide dog, Rex, (who would steal and hide things from his partially sighted owner!) who played like he'd never dreamed of playing in his whole 1.5 year life. Buddy introduced him to the wonders of the wrestling in open spaces IN THE SUN ..
Just goes to show that you can pass all your exams but life will take you where you're meant to be in the end. Go Rex.
Today we met no-one but thanks to Ringo's folks for the amazing German treats !

And ... We are back. Fresh from an evening, gasping in 35°, we're in wellies today, and a big jacket with Elsie and Georgie preferring to stay cosy in the van but Dexter and Lola were just bloody delighted to get out ! We had a bit of a heave -ho and we all managed to brave it, 😂 including Gayle and Scout!💃🕺

The bosses were just happy to be back to business as usual.
No mention of being a day or two late and no mention of letting the team down. No verbal warning (although Oz did slap on the fox poo which is normally a celebration of life rather than a protest so if your dog stinks, they just really love life!) and no pile of emails... but I did miss my spreadsheet!! (My brain!)
Will catch up soon. But in the meantime, the bosses really did celebrate!

Jacket free day.
Thermal vest free day.
There's only a handful of days, for me, out of 365 days in Scotland, of this phenomenon occurring.

Also, note the lengths we go to, to get a smile. Some of them just don't like posing! Some love love love getting their photos taken!

Well, some beautiful grass bales appeared in our favourite field this morning. Some dogs felt that these strange objects in their field, were a bit spooky. But they made peace with them before the tractors took them away.

So... the first couple of photos tell a story of what it looks like to hide! We were walking along, not paying much attention to anything at all, turned a corner only to look up to see a horse and his rider standing still waiting for the coast to clear. The dogs stood and stared back for a second. Knowing some dogs are fascinated by the sight of a horse and gallus with it too, I ran! Ran away, sounding as excited as an 80's teen at a Wham concert ..and every single one of my dogs ran with me, wondering what the jam was, until we got far enough down a hill that we, and the horse, were out of sight. Well done my lovely gang finding me more exciting 🤣 Once the horse had trotted by, it was safe to emerge again in time to watch them happily gallop around the far field.

Oh my goodness... I'll never get used to this. So all my personal facebook posts were posting on insta business page so I decided this must be my personal account!? But if I post personal content directly onto insta, it also posts the same to my business page! 🙈😳 Aarrggh!

Horses are like buses; Don't see any for ages and then 3 (pairs) come along in one day. First time we managed to get everyone on leads in record time and adopt a very professional stance with our countryside catalogue poses nods and waves/small talk.. and then the coast was clear and they were let loose once more boinging all over the place... Times that by 3 emergency lead-ons, I was considering removing my thermals!
Photos from yesterday and today.
The field slurry has yielded a beautiful wilderness. The dogs were bounding through the grass and flowers. Please check for ticks and grass seeds in eyes / up noses.

Today we went from wet and freezing and wild to a cool summer again.
Unlike us moaning humans, the dogs delight in the diversity of our crazy climate which is only exaggerated on the braes.

Yesterday we kind of basked in the sun(ish) and swam a bit. Today it was ear flappingly windy so we just hoped to dodge the rain, which we managed. Hooray!

Maria is mum to Maisie B, one of our beloved walkidoggi gang.
Maria is a primary and nursery teacher and taught my children in their formative years and she also taught drama, within her own venture, out-with school, when they were younger too. It was fantastic for them.
As well as working in communities as a story teller and a children's author, she is a celebrant, she conducts wedding ceremonies and also funerals.

No apologies if you've heard this before... 🤣... Maria wasn't able to marry us legally at this time, so after our legal ceremony in Glasgow, 2 weeks ago today, we hot-footed it back home where my mum and Maria were waiting.
Maria had taken little golden threads of information from knowing Derek and me and from little chats her and I had had, and woven them into the most beautiful touching, personal, uplifting, emotional mini-ceremony. Apart from the fact that Maria actually cares, she is creative from her little toe to the end of the longest hair on her head. She's funny, charismatic, generous, passionate, compassionate and class.
We drank champagne with friends and neighbours, cut a cake and then my mum went home thoroughly delighted that she was able to be part of such a precious part of our day and we headed back to town for the rest of our day.
So... If you or anyone you know, can find a way of including Maria in your day, for an event or within your community, please find a way.
