Welcome to my page and thanks for visiting! Let me tell you a little about myself and why I wanted to create this page. I was born on Christmas Day 2013 in the small city of Remus Michigan. I love the snow, eating ice cream, and love to play and chew on EVERYTHING!!! Recently I started having trouble breathing. I couldn't play with my toys, or my brother Webster (he is also a special needs doggy-h
e has epilepsy and diabetes), or my cousin Skye without hacking and weezing. Come to find out I have Congenital Bilateral Laryngeal Paralysis-yeah quite the mouthfull huh? What that means is that both sides of my Larynx are paralyzed and I'm in respiratory distress because I can't get enough air. As I get older-if left untreated-it will get worse and there is a chance it could kill me, not to mention it would be a slow and painful death. I am going to have a "tie-back" surgery to open my airway and I should be able to live a normal happy life after I heal. You can find out more about my condition and this type of surgery at http://www.mdvss.com/Laryngeal-Tie-Back.html
I am a lucky little guy, I am being given a chance to play, grow up, love unconditionally and get the same in return, be a brother and a friend, and have a happy normal life. I'm going to get my happy ending but it would not have been possible without my awesome, one-of-a-kind, Angel of Mercy Veterinarian, Dr. Ann Cavender at Salem Veterinary. She truly saved my life and inspired me to try and do something to help save other animals (and their owners!). Because of unforseen and unavoidable circumstances with my brother, my family didn't have all the money
for my expensive surgery that I needed ASAP. Salem Veterinary has a donation box called "Freds Fund". This donation box is to help animals in need and to help them to live their lives to their fullest-as they all deserve. My surgery is May 1st and my surgeon is Dr. Dan Degner with the Animal Surgical Center of Michigan. I'm scared but I think I'm going to be ok, Dr. Cavender said Dr. Dan was an excellent surgeon. I'll post updates on my recovery and...my surgery has already been paid for but if you'd like to help me fulfill my wish of giving back and helping other animals in need, please consider donating to those jars in your local vet offices or you may also donate to one of the wonderful life-saving places below. Thank you for taking the time to read about me :-)
