You want to see why I use Freezer and Frigerators?
I always shot many holes before filling to allow Oxygen to the soil.

I have grown many things in this over the years. Since 2023 and even to this very moment we only use it to Propagate. I get a 85%-90% Return with no hormones.

Everything besides Volunteers is Elderberries all starting to root or just cut for the rooting Process.

Powdered charcoal is extremely expensive. So we powderize ourselves instead of buying. I may never get enough that way but I am not out $100s and each year more is added.

This stuff is amazing on your soil it is something that many have never heard of. This stuff we use on the farm for guarantee Immunity to parvo and for so many other things but the Gardan and Parvo was the two things that just amazes me. I'll tell you everything you need to know about charcoal in gardening and when I am done you will see why it is important to us in our gardening.

Charcoal, especially in its activated or biochar form, offers numerous benefits for soil health and plant growth. Its porous structure improves soil aeration and drainage while enhancing water retention, making it particularly useful in sandy or compacted soils. By acting as a sponge, charcoal holds onto essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, slowly releasing them over time to nourish plants. It also provides a habitat for beneficial microorganisms that promote soil fertility and plant health. Additionally, charcoal binds to toxins such as pesticides and heavy metals, neutralizing them and creating a safer environment for roots.

One of the most significant advantages of charcoal is its ability to adjust soil pH, especially in acidic conditions, making it more hospitable for a wide range of plants. It also contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, such as nitrous oxide, and acting as a long-term carbon sink, helping to mitigate climate change. To maximize its benefits, it is crucial to use untreated natural charcoal or biochar rather than charcoal briquettes with additives. Preparing biochar by crushing it and "charging" it with nutrients—soaking it in compost tea or liquid fertilizer—ensures that it enhances soil fertility immediately upon application.

When incorporating charcoal into soil, it should be thoroughly mixed into the topsoil at a rate of 5-10% by volume. This approach helps create a balanced and nutrient-rich growing medium for most crops. While the benefits are generally universal, testing biochar on a small area before widespread use is recommended to ensure compatibility with your specific soil and plants. Over time, the charcoal integrates seamlessly into the soil ecosystem, providing lasting improvements to soil structure, water retention, and fertility with minimal maintenance. By using charcoal strategically, gardeners and farmers can support healthier plants and contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Still Growing plants in this Arkansas winter. About 400 more figs Propagating with a few LSU Tigers coming alone great. We can't wait to add our Triumph Muscadine that are Propagating but not ready for pots.

Mulberries are coming as well but I am not going to talk about it yet. This is the first time to Propagate our dwarf Variety.

We even are rooting Meyer lemons and let's just say we may end up grafting soon. As I will want to graft them to Poncirus Trifoliata or Hardy Orange. A hardy Arkansas lemon Variety used for grafting already. So why not since we have both Meyer and Hardy Orange. But as of now I am just happy they are rooting.

The Miss Figgy Fig is a dwarf variety of the Black Mission fig, ideal for small gardens, containers, or patios due to its compact size, reaching only 4–6 feet tall and wide. Despite its small stature, this fig tree is highly productive, yielding medium-sized, sweet, purple-black figs with a deep red interior that are perfect for fresh eating, drying, or preserves. Hardy in USDA zones 7–10, it thrives in full sun with well-draining soil and consistent watering, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. For optimal growth, use a balanced fertilizer during the growing season and prune annually during dormancy to maintain its shape and encourage fruiting. Miss Figgy adapts well to container growing when placed in a large pot with proper drainage, and the soil should be refreshed every 2–3 years. It often produces two crops per year, with a smaller breba crop in early summer and a main crop in late summer to fall. In colder climates, potted plants can be brought indoors, while outdoor plants benefit from heavy mulching and burlap wrapping for winter protection. With its ease of care and abundant fruit production, Miss Figgy is a fantastic choice for gardeners looking to enjoy delicious figs in a compact and manageable plant.

Ginger Beer. Well we call it Ginger Honey Beer.
We love to add Lemon to ours
Remember you can make the soda as strong as you want just by adding more or less Syrup.
We Crafted with the warmth of fresh ginger, the natural sweetness of golden honey, and the zesty brightness of fresh lemon juice, this ginger beer delivers a harmonious balance of bold and refreshing flavors. The spicy kick of ginger is tamed by the smooth, floral sweetness of honey, while the tangy lemon provides a crisp, invigorating finish. The carbonation adds an effervescent fizz, creating a delightful beverage that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:

Fresh ginger root (about 4-6 inches, grated) more equals stronger Ginger.

Honey (1/2 to 1 cup, depending on your sweetness preference)

Fresh lemons (2-3, juiced)

Carbonated water (soda) (4-5 cups)

Directions:

1. Prepare the Ginger Base

Peel and grate the ginger root. The more ginger you use, the stronger the flavor will be.

Add the grated ginger to a saucepan with 2 cups of water.

2. Simmer the Mixture

Bring the water and ginger to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This extracts the ginger's flavor and spiciness.

3. Sweeten with Honey

After simmering, remove the mixture from heat. While it’s still warm, stir in honey until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness as needed.

4. Add Lemon Juice

Once the ginger-honey mixture has cooled slightly, strain it into a bowl to remove the grated ginger pieces.

Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice. This adds a zesty freshness and balances the sweetness.

5. Combine with Soda

To serve, mix the ginger base with chilled carbonated water in a pitcher or glass. Use a 1:1 ratio for a balanced flavor, but you can adjust to your taste.

6. Serve and Enjoy

Pour over ice for a refreshing drink. Garnish with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint if desired.

When combined, the ingredients in this ginger beer create a powerful beverage that supports overall wellness. The digestive benefits of ginger and lemon work together to alleviate stomach discomfort, while honey adds soothing properties that can help ease coughs and sore throats. This blend is rich in antioxidants and immune-boosting compounds, making it a natural way to fight off colds and infections. Additionally, the detoxifying effects of lemon, coupled with the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger, promote a healthy, balanced body. With its refreshing fizz and revitalizing flavor, this drink is not only a treat for the taste buds but also a nourishing tonic for the body and soul.

Yesterday, I started my journey with olive leaves to unlock their incredible benefits. We invested in olive trees not only for the purpose of making olive leaf tinctures but also to press our own oils. Yes, it's another one of those dreams in the making! While I have to wait a year to get started, we’ve already begun propagating two different olive varieties. Soon, we’ll have enough leaves to create the tincture I’ve been eager to try.

Olive leaf tincture is a natural remedy celebrated for its health benefits, largely due to its primary active compound, oleuropein. Known for its antioxidant properties, it helps protect cells from damage, potentially slowing aging and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. The tincture also supports immune health, thanks to its antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal effects, making it useful for warding off colds, flu, and infections. Additionally, it shows potential in supporting cardiovascular health by helping to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, which benefits heart health.

Olive leaf tincture’s anti-inflammatory properties may aid in managing pain and inflammation, particularly for those with arthritis. It’s also noted for its ability to help regulate blood sugar levels, offering benefits for those with diabetes or insulin resistance. As an antimicrobial agent, it can combat various pathogens, and when applied topically, it may improve skin conditions like acne and eczema. Some users report an increase in energy and stamina after using olive leaf tincture, potentially due to its effects on blood circulation and reduced oxidative stress.

With the abundance of leaves from our growing olive trees, we’ll soon be able to make this tincture a staple in our wellness routine and explore the many ways olive leaf can enhance our health naturally.
