Blue came into rescue at the age of approximately 12 weeks after being shuffled between 3 homes already. When we received her, both of her font legs were badly broken to the point where she could not extend the legs and stand properly. After immediately being taken to the vet upon surrender, the vet determined the breaks must have occurred around 4 weeks of age, and from a fall as high as 2 storie
s possibly. Due to the extent of the damage, Blue had to undergo four surgeries. The first three failed her, and this resulted in her being sent to Can West Vet clinic in Vancouver for her fourth. Dr. Francis was amazing and performed her super extensive, rebuilding surgery, which lasted for over 7 hours. Blue then had to have 8 weeks of crate rest, 6 with her right leg in an external fixature to secure the badly damaged bones inside. Blue was loved so much by her foster Mom & Dad that helped her through her post op surgery and therapy, that they decided they couldn't let her go and adopted her. With her new legs and new home, came a new name, and Blue is now Emma! She lives on spralling acreage with 2 cats and 1 dog sibling, as well as many other friends and family that love her. She gets to run in fields and walk along trails. We will all be forever grateful for every donation and well wish that was sent her way to help her get where she is today. To see her run makes our hearts fill with happiness and this wouldn't have been possible without the help of all of you, so thank you!
