We have a few horse lesson openings available!

Horse Lessons 🐴
Ages 5+
No prior horse experience required
Semi-private: Lesson groups of 2-3 students
$40 an hour semi-private lesson
Riding Discipline: Western or English

Deck the Stalls was so fun today! 🎄🎅🏼❤️🎁

We played with all the animals, read a Christmas book, made Christmas ornaments and rode the mini horse!

Also adding photos of the Trot or Treat class that we held in October!

🎄December 15: Christmas at Grace at Grace Baptist Church - West Columbia - our animals will be part of the live nativity in the Bethlehem walk-through!

🐎🐄🐐🐑🐓Animal Meet & Greets
-These private farm tours are perfect for visitors who want to come to the farm and see all of the animals up close and personal! Meet & Greets are sessions with horses, pony, goats, sheep, alpaca, llama, pig, mini horse, mini mule, mini cow, hedgehogs, chickens, ducks, turkey, peacock, guineas and bunnies. Visitors get to pet the animals, learn how to brush the horses, feed them treats, children enjoy a horse lead ride and play in the small animal petting pens.
$70 for 1-hour session for 1-2 children.
Additional children are $10 each.

Today we are thankful that Sassy is FINALLY out of quarantine!! It’s been a long 22 days. She is fully vaccinated, dewormed and hooves are trimmed!
She is getting settled with her new pony friends. Next step is to get her pregnancy tested! 🤎🐴

Pavlova the Turkey Update 🦃

We have good news and bad news.

Good news: We figured out what’s wrong with her.
Bad news: She will never recover. 💔

It’s simply old age. She is only 1.5 years old, but after doing some research I found out that the lifespan of a Broad Breasted White turkey is very, very short. 💔
She has actually lived a long time for her breed. I guess she has been healthy and happy at our farm! 🫶🏼
They are essentially the Great Danes of turkeys. Since they are meat birds, they are bred to get big and get big fast. Their poor bodies just can’t keep up with the abnormal growth rate.
Her current health issues are par for the course for this breed at this age 😞, so I’m just keeping her comfortable, safe and loved for as long as I can. 😭 She is essentially under Turkey Hospice Care.

(Disclaimer: Yes, we eat meat. No, we are not vegan. Yes, we are a farm.
But I do believe in loving and taking care of God’s creatures well during the time that we are privileged to have them.)

I’m going to give her some special treats from our Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. 🤎
